October 25th: It seems hard to believe we are entering the last week of our Fall Campaign!! The past several Saturdays have seen large groups stand witness to our Faith in prayerful support of the unborn and all those affected by the tragedy of abortion. A busload came 2 weeks ago from St Killian's of New Bedford led by Edwin Alderando and Fr, Hugo (they made the front page of the Anchor magazine this week). This past Saturday, the K of C Council from St Anthony of Padua in New Bedford adopted the entire day and had prayer volunteers in attendace throughout a very rainy day including Fr. Roger Landry. This Wednesday, a group from Woods Hole will be attending from 2-4PM led by Fr, Joe. If you have a chance to stop by and lend your support it would be most appreciated. We are most grateful to all those who have contributed so much to this endeavor for the past 33 days especially those clergy whose presence makes such a powerful impact.
October 14th: It seems hard to believe we've reached the half way mark of our campaign vigil. We've seen many new faces in the first 3 weeks and have added many new contacts to our list. We have also garnered lots of publicity during the past 3 weeks in the local paper which has served to significantly broaden our community outreach. Fortunately, through Steve's and Darlene's diligent efforts, we have been able to communicate through these same channels the basic tenets of 40 Days for Life- that is one of prayer and fasting for the unborn. A front page article over the past weekend related to the display of graphic images included a photo of one our volunteers praying with a beautiful image of a fetus in the womb-we could not have asked for more!!
Our closing prayer service will be held at the site starting at 4:30PM on Sunday Nov 1st. After the ceremony, a light meal will seved in the LaSalette Shrine cafeteria (same location as last year) hosted by the K of C Council of Seekonk. All are invited to attend.
Thanks to all for your sacrifice, prayers and witness. We couldn't this without you!!
For Life,
Ron, Steve & Darlene
