BREAKING: Abortions cease at facility!

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Ever since 40 Days for Life developed into a national — and then international — movement, beginning back in 2007, we have been blessed to see:

  • More than 2,800 lives saved from abortion …
  • 38 abortion workers who have experienced conversions and left the abortion industry …
  • And FIVE abortion centers have gone out of business following 40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors.

Well, we just got breaking news from Raleigh, North Carolina, that the "National Women’s Health" abortion center — where 40 Days for Life campaigns have been conducted — will no longer do abortions after this coming Saturday!

Heere’s a picture of my visit to that 40 Days for Life location — back when we had NO IDEA that abortions would be ending there:

Today’s Raleigh News & Observer newspaper confirms the story, and reports:

One of four Triangle abortion clinics will no longer do procedures after Saturday, but it’s unclear whether it will close or simply stop offering abortions.

Even as we praise God for this victory, pray that this center, which has done so much harm, completely closes and that the workers experience conversions!

North Carolina was one of the first states to ever conduct a 40 Days for Life campaign, and today’s News & Observer story shared additional encouraging news:

Abortions in North Carolina have been declining, as they have across the nation. In 2008, the latest year for available data, about 27,000 North Carolina women had abortions, according to the N.C. Center for State Health Statistics. That was down 4.6 percent from the previous year.

Your prayers and faithful efforts continue to bear great fruit!

On that note, I’ll have a big announcement for you in the coming days (I can’t tell you about it just yet) but please MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Saturday, July 10.

This is going to be big. REALLY BIG.

I’ll have more news for you soon, and I know you’ll be excited!

God shines through

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

You’ve started something incredible — and the power of God continues to shine through!

Even though we are between 40 Days for Life campaigns, great news continues to roll in daily.

In Fort Wayne, Indiana, Cathie notes that the number of abortions at the facility where 40 Days for Life vigils are conducted has gone down. WAY down.

Over the past few years, this facility has scheduled around 10 abortions every week. Two weeks ago, the number was three. And last week, the total number of abortions performed was … ONE.

Here’s a photo that shows just a few of the young people who prayed at the Fort Wayne vigil during last fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign:

Cathie says there are several factors contributing to the decrease, but “above all we are witnessing the results of consistent and fervent prayer over the years intensifying with the 40 Days for Life campaigns the past two years and the power of Almighty God.”

We hope and pray that the number will soon drop to ZERO … and we believe that God will soon answer those prayers.

In Columbia, Missouri, volunteers continue to pray on a weekly basis at a Planned Parenthood facility where 40 Days for Life vigils have taken place.

Last week, they heard the center was overbooked. So they anticipated the worst — they recalled a day in November when around two dozen women arrived for abortions.

But last Thursday, people came to pray — some 50 volunteers throughout the course of the day, including two priests, a deacon and two seminary students.

The number of women with appointments was 13, which was surprisingly low. And of those, one simply left without saying a word … and two told the prayer volunteers that they’d changed their minds and would NOT be having abortions!

One of the prayer participants in Columbia tells of a woman in a parked car who said she wanted to talk. This woman said that months ago, she had her mind set on having an abortion. But three times she arrived for her abortion appointment, and all three times there were people outside praying.

Three times, she turned around and went back home without going in. Still, she made a fourth appointment.

There were people praying again this time, but she went in anyway. But the Planned Parenthood staff said she was anemic, so they could not do the abortion.

She had never been anemic — ever — but it just seemed that this abortion was NOT meant to happen. Then she said, “I want you to see the joy of my life — my three-week-old baby boy!” She pointed to her baby in the back seat.

“Yes, God is working even when we don’t know it,” said Kathy in Columbia. “How many babies are living in the womb — or have been born — because people stood on the sidewalk?”

Some quick math determined that this baby was saved from abortion during last fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign. “A baby saved — and we didn’t even know it!” said Kathy.

The next 40 Days for Life campaign will take place September 22 to October 31. Will your community take part? Are you feeling the call to help lead this effort in your city?

Applications for the next campaign will open next month. Please prayerfully discern the level of your commitment to this crucial, live-saving mission.
