Another abortion center CLOSING!
Whenever you get an e-mail with 20 exclamation marks in the subject line, you know it’s one of two things…
1.) A spam message
-OR-
2.) Something REALLY exciting
After getting off an airplane Friday coming home from a talk in Indiana, I jumped in my car and fired up my laptop to quickly check e-mail, and there it was: “Prayers Answered!!!!!!!!!!! Aaron’s Abortion IS CLOSING!!!!!!!!!”
I opened the message to verify what I suspected, and sure enough, the notorious late-term abortion facility in Dallas, Texas — site of the second 40 Days for Life campaign in history — was shutting its doors for good!
Grabbing my cell phone, I dialed my friend Karen Garnett, Executive Director of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas (the group that led the 40 Days for Life outside that Aaron’s Abortion center three and a half years ago.)

(David Bereit with Karen Garnett at the White House in April)
Karen answered and confirmed the amazing news. Her voice was almost quivering with excitement.
She only had a minute, as she was about to go on the air for a live interview with a Dallas radio station, so we agreed to talk later.
On Saturday evening I was able to get her on the phone for about twenty minutes and she agreed to let me record our discussion so I could share it with you…
…And you won’t believe what she shared!

With less than a month before registrations begin for this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign, God has given us another beautiful gift to show what can happen in a community when dedicated people pray, fast, and put their faith into action.
Would you like to see this kind of impact in your hometown?
It can happen.
Ask the people of Dallas, Texas, who are now gearing up to conduct 40 Days for Life campaigns at TWO locations this fall.

(Photo from original 40 Days for Life in Dallas, outside now-closing Aaron’s abortion center)
Ask the people of Rockland County, New York — site of the other abortion center that shut down less than two months ago, following a local 40 Days for Life campaign.
If you want to see abortion end in your city, you owe it to yourself to listen to Karen share how 40 Days for Life — and the ongoing faithfulness of many people over many years — led to the closure of a late-term abortion facility.
Her words will give you great hope!
Maybe YOU’LL be the next one sending out an e-mail sharing the exciting news from your city: “Prayers Answered!!!!!!!!!!! The local Abortion Center IS CLOSING!!!!!!!!!”
Yours for LIFE,
David Bereit
National Campaign Director
40 Days for Life
P.S.- This case study begins the pre-registration training to help you and others decide if 40 Days for Life is right for your community this fall. We certainly weren’t planning to begin this way, but realize there’s no better way to start than with a view of the possible end result! Please post any comments as a reply below!

Praise God. God works sometime slowly, sometimes swiftly.
Thank you for uplifting God’s work and my day.
This motivates me to keep attending Mass and giving to 40 Days for Life.
May God continue to bless you and your work.
Thank you for your emails.

Tremendous! The Holy Spirit is moving and I am thrilled to be a part of this upcoming 40 Days Campaign. Please, Lord, let this be the year that the abortion clinic on Concord street closes it’s doors as well. Through prayer and fasting, we will spread Your love and mercy. Thank you, David and 40 Days staff, for all the work you are doing to prepare for this monumental 40 Days campaign!

Thank you for the pictures. It is good to know what David lokks like, after receiving so many of his messages. Also I’m impressed by the picture of the facility which closed. It is a far cry from the small but numerous clinics I had envisioned. It’s true; a picture does speak a thousand words.

Please pray that the abortion mills in Sacramento, CA shut down. It would be a tremendous vote of confidence from the Lord for all of us who faithfully witness and pray at Planned Parenthood, Feminists Clinic, the facilities at Sutter Hospital.
Great news for Texas. Please God that Sacramento may soon join in the Hallelujuah chorus.

35 years is ENOUGH! This is my mantra, it’s my opening statement to my meeting with pastors. It was wonderful hearing it also from Karen. NOW, is the appropriate time, NOW.
Praise the Lord. And yes, we will be doing a 40 Days in our communities, even though we are one of the lucky ones who have no local abortion mills. We will be joining others not so lucky, to pray at the mills advertising to our communities.

The Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas, with Karen Garnett’s leadership, is planning another 40 Day Vigil this fall right in the heart of this year’s election, our second at Planned Parenthood. At the same time, we are planning a diocese-wide distribution of one page bulletin stuffers or pass out flyers to all diocesan parishioners clearly identifying each Catholic’s moral obligations in voting for pro-life candidates on November 4th along with voter guides. This will be done either inside the churches or outside the churches depending on our Bishop’s approval or lack of it. The template of our plan will be made available to all diocese’s pro-lifers in the country. Watch the blog articles at http://www.viewsfromthepews.wordpress.com for on-going information or call Chuck Suter at 972-401-0471. The Holy Spirit is working overtime this year, everyone, because a 10 to 15% increase in the pro-life Catholic vote can keep the worst anti-life president in our history from winning the White House!!

Praise to God! I was there in 2004 and walked to this facility on Dec. 12 and prayed on Christmas night with people from Arkansas and parishioners from Grand Prairie. How great is God to answer our prayers and give us this encouragement! I am renewed in my spirit and will commit now to the next 40 days of prayer and fasting. Thank you Lord, Jesus!

Thank you so much for sharing this incredible story. It helps to strengthen my resolve to have the fall 40 Days for Life campaign take place in Lincoln Nebraska! This encouraging news really helps me keep moving forward. Fall in Nebraska is much warmer than the lenten 40 Days so that is further encouragement. Thanks again – Pam

Praise the Lord! I will continue to pray for the closing of the local abortion clinic on Case Street and also pray for the proliferation of the “40 Days for Life” campaign. Thank you to everyone for all you are doing! Diane D

Thanks Karen and David:
This is great news. The key is faithfulness, not success. I encourage evereyone regardless of your role, philosophy, or strategy in the pro-life movement to conduct/participate in a 40 Day campaign.
We did it with 40 below temps here in the Twin Cities with 6 churches participating in our “Adopt-A-Day” program, with Hispanic and African-American participation. If we can do it in the “40 Frozen Days for Life” you can too!

Karen and David
What wonderful news you have shared with us. May this news help the country unite in the effort of pro-lifers to put an end to abortion. It speaks highly to the value of prayerful presence. The Holy Spirit is indeed giving energy to the 40 days for life. Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the unborn, desires our prayers and efforts to overcome the evil of abortion. God bless you for your leadership in the movement.

Terrific News!!
May God’s Name be praised for hearing our heartfelt prayers and answering us!
June 23rd, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Dear David and Karen,
Thank you for sharing your tremendous victory. That abortion facility
in Dallas looks worse than a concentration camp to me.
Just because it’s legal, doens’t mean that “Thou shalt Not Kill”, particulary the unborn, doesn’t apply.
When we go against Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,Jehovah, as a country, the consequences are apparent. I am glad that President
Bush is in the picture supporting this action.
I am also thankful that we, as a country still have freedom of speech
on the airwave, internet, etc.

Praise GOD!
It took 7 years of prayer- a Biblical number of completeness.
What a message of encouragement for those of us who pray without apparent answers for so long……..
Keep praying brothers and sisters!

You all,
There isn’t an abortion mill near my city, but there are three in South Carolina; Greenville, Charleston, and Columbia. I travel alot through my job and stay in many motel rooms, the first thing that I do entering the room is get the phone book and flip it open to the yellow pages and tear out the ads for the abortion clinics. I wrote a book called “Help Me, Grandma: I Don’t Want to Die”, which has true stories of abortion.
June 23rd, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Thank you to all the dedicated supporters who have stood in front of abortion clinics and/or prayed for the closing of the doors of all these murder factories.
We are blessed with people here in Montgomery who show up in front of Beacon Clinic and Reproductive Health Services. God willing, may we have more to join the ranks and pray these abortion mills into non-existence.
June 23rd, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Great way to go. Praise God.

IT’S THE POWER OF PRAYER AND FASTING WITH THE WITNESS TO MAKE IT WORK. WE CAN HARDLY WAIT FOR THE FALL CAMPAIGN HERE IN NAPA.
June 24th, 2008 at 2:02 am
Praise God. Thanks for the hard work. We will keep 40 days for life in our prayers. We are currently investigating the possibility of launching a campaign in our own community. This is a wonderful piece of encouragement!
June 24th, 2008 at 5:44 pm

GOD IS TRULY REWARDING THE LOYALTY AND STEADFASTNESS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL. THAT WONDERFUL NEWS BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES. I WILL CONTINUE MY ROSARIES FOR THE SUCCESS OF 40 DAYS, FOR DAVID, SHAWN AND ALL THE DEVOTED INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE GIVING THEIR TIME, THEIR PRAYER AND SHARING THEIR FAITH. ALLELUIA!

Praise God. I will continue to pray for this to happen in New England. All your prayers have been answered.
June 25th, 2008 at 9:06 am
This is great news! Wonderful news! Praise God!
In our own town, I look forward to the conversion of Dr Hodari and the closing of all his Womancare abortion facilities in Michigan.
Let’s remember “There is no such thing as a good abortion, a woman is never better off with the choice of abortion.”
June 26th, 2008 at 4:52 am
I’m so proud to be part of the pro-life work in my community and will continue to pray for the end of abortion here and everywhere! We had one facility close down but still another one survives in Ventura, Ca.
This is really great news, though, in Dallas! Thank you David and Karen and ALL the suporters who come out and pray and who help in other ways. God is Great and hears our prayers. Thank you to all who pray- Keep praying and never never never give up! God is faithful!!
I have been teaching Natural Family Planning for about 10 years. Now more and more couples are asking for this knowledge and (better yet) more and more priests are making classes a pre-Cana requirement. Praise the Lord! (DO SIDE-WALK COUNSELORS AND PEOPLE PRAYING REALLY UNDERSTAND THAT NOT ONLY PROCEEDURES AT AN ABORTION FACILITY KILL BABIES, BUT ALSO BIRTH CONTROL PILL(PATCHES,SHOTS IUD’S) ALSO HAVE ABORTIVE EFFECTS?
There are many areas to serve in the Pro-life world. Thank you EVERYONE for your work.
June 27th, 2008 at 11:15 am
Praise God for this wonderful blessing! I am brought to tears over this triumph for I was an active participant in the 40 Days for Life at this particular location, and was blessed then to be part of it but feel even more blessed now. I was glad to be part of such a wonderful outpouring of Pro Life supporters. God is definitely good, ALL THE TIME!
Let’s never stop fighting for good over this evil of abortion!
July 1st, 2008 at 11:32 pm
God is moving and opening doors. We can’t stop now, lets close every deathcamp in this country, we can do it,if we humble ourselves and let God lead us, day by day. Thanks to all you good people who love the Lord and His children. God bless you all!
