DAY 14: Prayer request

March 22nd, 2011 by admin

I have an urgent prayer request below but first …

… we are seeing a huge impact this spring on the on abortion center employees.

Stories across the board continue to pour in about the peaceful vigil’s impact on abortion center employees.

In one case, someone who arrived to apply for a job … and did not realize that Planned Parenthood does abortions.

In another case, abortion centers are cutting hours.

Here’s my urgent prayer request … plus an exciting look at several locations where prayer is having a HUGE impact!

I’d like to ask you to keep one particular 40 Days for Life campaign in prayer. Because of the nature of this situation, I’m not going to disclose the location.

The bottom line is that a key employee at an abortion center wants out. The 40 Days for Life vigil volunteers are helping, so please pray for this situation.

If this employee leaves, then it’s quite possible that another key person may also quit. And if THAT happens — well, the volunteer says the center might not be able to keep operating with both of them gone.

“God is working miracles through this campaign,” said the volunteer. Please pray for these employees!

One of the vigil participants in San Antonio noticed a woman who got out of her car in the Planned Parenthood parking lot.

“She looked to be business oriented,” said the volunteer. “I called out to her and she smiled and came to the sidewalk.” The woman said she was there for a job interview.

“I asked her if she knew they performed abortions here — and she said that she did not.”

The volunteer told her about the legal situations Planned Parenthood is in right now. “I also told her how our local Coalition for Life could help her locate other clinics where she might apply for work.”

A bit later, the woman returned to her car. “She had turned down the interview and gave us a wave,” the 40 Days for Life participant said. “We are changing hearts and minds!”

As volunteers continue to pray outside a Planned Parenthood abortion center in Waco, the local team there has learned that two other regional Planned Parenthood offices have closed — at least temporarily.

“With all the bad news facing Planned Parenthood locally and nationally,” said John in Waco, “I suspect this will be a long temporary closure.”

Planned Parenthood opened these centers in the past few years with a lot of publicity and fanfare. Abortions are not done there, but they do refer women to the office in Waco where the 40 Days for Life vigil is in progress.

“We pray during 40 Days for Life,” said John, “that Planned Parenthood’s abortion facility in Waco will close.”

40 Days for Life volunteers in Lincoln hope today sees a repeat of what happened last Tuesday.

“Tuesdays are the only day that Planned Parenthood of Lincoln does surgical abortions,” Sheila said. in a note she posted on the 40 Days for Life blog.

But last Tuesday, the abortion total was ZERO!

“We do not know why,” she said, but none were scheduled.

“We are blessed that God has chosen to reveal these fruits,” wrote Sheila.

“Truly our prayers are saving lives.”

Thank you for all you are doing to save the lives of unborn babies. May the Lord richly bless you and may your work be spread throughout the country so that thousands of children’s lives will be saved. God bless you.

  2. Anne B. Says:

When you asked for prayer Shawn, I prayed. My mind went right back to the beginning of Creation when poor Adam and Eve found themselves cast out. But did God abandon them? No. He said to the Evil One “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy offspring and hers; thou shalt lie in wait for her heel and she shall crush thy head” (Douay-Rheims translation from St Jerome’s Latin Vulgate translation). Now we know who the Woman’s Offspring is: It is Jesus Christ, and His brethren – us! We were given to Mary His Mother in the person of John, with Jesus’ dying breath. So it is through Jesus and His Mystical Body, the Church, that the Evil One will be conquered. I asked our heavenly Mother to pray for us, and with us, now, that her Offspring, Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, may be the Victor. As indeed He will be!

  3. Dave Mattozzi Says:

Let us all pray for an end to abortion.

  4. Patricia l stahler Says:

Yes I will pray for the women that are with child .

  5. Betsy P. Says:

Praying for the women who are considering abortion and for the employees who are considering quitting work at Planned Parenthood that they will run into the arms of Jesus and be safe. May they see Jesus in all who are standing for life in His name, and want to come to Him where they will find rest.

Looking up Psalm 82:4 in my Parallel Bible, I found this paraphrase of that Psalm in The Living Bible: “God stands up to open heaven’s court. he pronounces judgement on the judges [including those who legalized abortion in 1973]. How long will your judges refuse to listen to the evidence? How long will you shower special favors on the wicked? Give fair judgement to the poor man, the afflicted, the fatherless, the destitute. Rescue the poor and needy from the grasp of evil men.
But you are so foolish and so ignorant! Because you are in darkness, all the foundations of society are shaken to the core.
I have called you all “gods” and “sons of the Most High”. But in death you are mere men. You will fall as any prince – for all must die. Stand up, O God, and judge the earth. For all of it belongs to You. All nations are in Your hands.”
Praise be to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon! Amen.

  6. ELizabeth Garibaldi Says:

Though we are not an official site this SPring vigil, we are hosting a 40 hour prayer vigil – the first of its kind in our area- this coming weekend – starting 2:30 pm March 25th, the feast of the Annunciation – till March 27th at 7 AM. We will be praying with and before the Blessed Sacrament and outside our local “Reproductive Health” clinic – contraceptive and chemical abortions dispensary. We will be holding in prayer – all those prayer warriors on the front lines at the abortuaries throughout the world and for conversions of the workers, our government leaders and especially the abortion minded women and their unborn babies. Know that the gates of Heaven are being stormed with our prayers united with thousands across the globe and the gates of Panned Parenthood and Hell are rattling! Praise be to God – Our Lady of Guadalupe – Patroness of the Unborn and of the Americas Pray for us!

  7. Jim Ball Says:

Please read this incredible story from Ellen Tilleman. This is why we do what we do…in the sun, in the rain, in the wind, in the dark, and in the snow…

“Yes”, our signs do Make a difference!

We were approached by a beautiful young woman, today, that was beaming with a smile across her face. She said she had to stop and thank us and let us know that “You don’t know the effect you are having on the people in these buildings, We are watching you.” She shared how she had found herself pregnant, and “I was in school and 40 years old and I didn’t know if I could do it again.” She was planning an abortion but kept seeing “You ladies with your signs.”

With a proud voice she opened her phone to a picture and said, “This is Vernon. He’s 4 months old” (What a cute baby and he had the biggest smile ever!) Mom had now graduated, and was just on her way home from a job interview when she stopped to share her story with us.

Her parting words were “keep doing what you are doing.”

I feel that sign someone carried was God’s whisper to her heart, to affirm what she already knew. “Abortion hurts Women”.
Baby Vernon was saved by a sign on Webster

Thank you Jesus for this wonderful sign from you that miracles do happen (I told her we would pray for her job so if you could just say a few prayers today for that intention).

    Let’s keep walkin’ and let’s keep prayin’…

    Humbly in His service,

  8. Winnie Says:

Keep up the wonderful work for the Kingdom of God… the Mystical Body of Christ! This cause is in my daily prayers… members of our diocese (Palm Beach) are urged to pray outside abortion clinics daily… our Bishop appears there to pray frequently.
God bless you for all your efforts… bearing visible proof of the power of prayer and example.

  9. Brandi Baker Says:

    Psalm 34:4-7

    4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
    5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
    6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers them.

  10. Judy Quabius Says:

Hallelujah! Yes we will not stop. We WILL continue to pray. I pray and see in my spirit a picture of the doors to Affiliated Medical Services in Milwaukee boarded up with the boards in the sign of the cross of our Lord Jesus who died that we might have LIFE. And I also see yellow tape stretched around the building that says “Do Not Cross”. So I pray YES DO NOT CROSS BUT GO TO THE CROSS that SHOWS US THE WAY, TELLS US THE TRUTH , AND GIVE US
LIFE and the courage to make right decisions. IN THE NAME OF JESUS. AMEN

  11. Barbara Raugh Says:

Thank you so much for keeping me in the loop and in the circle of prayer. Just recently I had to make a trip back home to care for my elderly mother after she had eye surgery. I was completely caught up in taking care of her every day. I am now back home and ready to get back on my knees in prayer with the rest of you prayer warriors. God’s blessings on all of you. Let’s fight together!!

  12. mary trybuskiewicz Says:

The leader of our 40 Days campaign in Raleigh,NC told me as they were praying,a mercedes benz drove slowly past them once, then twice, then pulled into the Planned PArenthood parking lot. A smartly dressed, middle age woman stepped out of the car, and started walking towards them, right past the clinic doors. She walked up to the leader and asked what church they were with. She then proceded to thank them for being there. The woman said, she grew up in a family that was radical and pro-choice and when she found out,at 19,that she was pregnant, they made her go and have an abortion. She wishes that there were people, like this group, around at that time to sway her in a different direction. She now has a 19 yr old daughter, and wants to know how she can help spread the truth,so others won’t have to go through what she experienced.

  13. Dennis Krug Says:

Christianity is very, very important to me and my prayers go out to all who are considering abortion. Life is NOT a choice it’s Gods plan and no person should ever try to put themself in Gods place.
I saw a picture once that filled my heart of a baby that needed an operation before he/she was born. The small incision in the womans “C” section area had the baby’s hand out holding the doctors finger. That’s LIFE and that’s the only CHOICE we must make.

  14. ms2u Says:

    re: the urgent prayer request

Yes, I will pray and pray and pray for this situation. Please keep us updated!

And, is there anything else we can do? Maybe somehow give direct help in their job search? Donate to a fund designed to assist these employees in their transition to more wholesome employment? Give them encouragement – such as on a special blog page, just for them…?

  15. harmonfam4 Says:

My heart rejoices with each of these updates…the babies that are saved and the lives that are changed.
Continued prayers for the campaign as well as God’s mercy and grace upon all those involved in the sin of abortion. Praying for the truth (abortion is murder) be revealed to people who have hardened their hearts to the truth…for the Holy Spirit to open their eyes.

Special prayers ascending for the unnamed clinic and workers!!

  16. Chantal Laure Says:

Thanks for these awesome news! I’m happy to receive your messages everytime. Since I don’t have time to go to the vigil, I still pray for the brave ones who do. I decided also to wear the cross I received in 2002 at the International World Youth Day in Toronto, Canada (which is quite big) and I pinned on it the “precious feet” pins!

People look at it and give me weird gaze… and I realized that this was a good way to silently bring awareness and be in communion with the 40 days for Life crew!

So thanks for all your inspiration and God bless you all!

  17. Holly Page Says:

Last Saturday,March19, 2011 I returned for the first time to the site of the abortion I had on June 26, 1973. I leaned against the back wall of the building and prayed for employees to have such a feeling of discontent from the janitors to the CEO that stepping foot on the property would cause anxiety. I prayed for finances and re imbursements to dry up. I prayed for Girls and women to feel no comfort and I prayed, In JESUS NAME for the murders to stop.
    In Christ,
    Holly Page

  18. Delords Says:

Always Glad Reading of The Wonderful works being Done by Our GOD and HIS Team, The Imparts are being felt and i know More Testimonies are coming.

Keep On The Good Work Everyone.
    GOD Bless.

  19. Major Fecteau Says:

To your totals to date, add two more from Huntsville, our first two this 40 DFL Lenten Campaign.

An interesting note: Bishop Robert Baker, Diocese of Birmingham in Al, has authorized a Nine Day Novena of Masses, from March 25 to 2 April, for the specific intention of closing the Huntsville abortuary. 25 Catholic Churches in the diocese will offer masses during that itme frame for that intention. With such spiritual firepower, can the gates of Hell long endure?

  20. Amy Says:

—Ann Arbor, MI and San Francisco, CA—

I spoke with a friend praying on the sidewalk in Ann Arbor, MI last week, and this is what he told me -

He had travelled to San Francisco during the week of Ash Wednesday. Having committed to 40 Days for Life here in Michigan, he looked up the location of a 40 days for Life site in the San Francisco area. When he arrived there to pray, he found out that this abortionist’s had very recently closed down, and that the people there were continuing to pray there for a time in thanksgiving before moving to another site in the area to continue their prayer vigil. Praise God!

Incidentally, he was in San Francisco at the time of the earthquake in Japan and the concern about the tsunami that could reach the west coast of the U.S. Our prayers continue for all who have been affected by the disasters in Japan.

  21. Francisco Says:

We are in San Mateo County, which is the county just south of San Francisco. There were two abortion mills in this county, one in the city of San Mateo and the other in Redwood City. Both were closed several weeks ago, but Planned Parenthood wants to reopen another one in Redwood City. So today, for my parish’s turn at the 40 Days vigil, we went to the proposed site of the new PP mill which is up for lease, but targeted by PP, and prayed there, much like the peoplr to the north of us in San Francisco, except that there is the danger of a new mill opening down here, so though we prayed at a place where no abortions are currently being done, prayer is still needed that they NEVER reopen. Some of our members have been attending the City Council meetings where the debate between the culture of death and the culture of life is being waged at present, and everything is still hanging in the balance at this point. So continued prayers are still needed.
