DAY 1: Good news already

September 27th, 2011 by admin

It’s just the first day of the 40 Days for Life campaign … and I’ve already got great news to share! Let’s get right to it.

The 40 Days for Life team in Columbia holds its vigils outside a Planned Parenthood center that is the only abortion location between St. Louis and Kansas City.

Last Thursday — less than a week before the start of the campaign — the abortionist quit!

This is not the first time this has happened. Planned Parenthood in Columbia has gone through six different abortionists during the past two and a half years — and this facility has gone months at a time with NO ABORTIONS — including times DURING 40 Days for Life campaigns.

“Praise the Lord!” said Kathy in Columbia. “We know that God will do many miracles these 40 days!”

Planned Parenthood is referring women to its facility in St. Louis, so the prayers will continue in Columbia — and in St. Louis as well.

Here’s a photo of the prayer vigil in Columbia:

Rosario is one of two cities in Argentina taking part in 40 Days for Life for the first time.

“We have worked hard in order to adapt it to our culture,” said Gabriela in Rosario, “maintaining at the same time the core elements.”

Argentineans are enthusiastic about praying and fasting for an end to abortion, she said, “and I think this will be THE key element of our first-time campaign.”

For now, Gabriela said, the primary goal is to get the word out.

“And,” she said, “God is certainly helping us to achieve this goal!”

Yesterday, I mentioned 301 locations for this campaign — and the importance of another number … ONE.

Right after I wrote that message, I got a campaign update from Mary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The subject of her 40 Days for Life e-mail? “The power of one.”

“David, when he went up against the giant Goliath, was one of the least likely ones to stand a chance,” Mary wrote. “But he had faith in God! He had five smooth stones. And with God, it only took him ONE!”

The Sioux Falls update closes with an invitation, which I now extend to YOU!

Do you want to make a difference to end abortion over these next 40 days? Then ACT!

Join the vigil closest to you or call just one person and ask them if they will join you during 40 Days for Life. Invite others to get our e-mail updates by signing up at:

… and please share this e-mail with your friends and family.

Dear Lord, we begin another 40 Days. Please grant us the strength and will to do what must be done. Guide our minds in rightful thinking and our tongues in rightful speaking. Pour courage into our hearts and steel into our backbones. We are puny beings without You, O Lord. Smile down on our efforts and bless these 40 Days. We ask all things through Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Praise God! September 27th, at the 40 Days for Life kick-off rally we had at least 100 people praying with signs and balloons waving of pink and blue in front of the Planned Parenthood in Lawrenceville, Ga. Many cars were honking their horns in approval of our presence on this busy street in the rush hour of the setting sun.

  13. Peggy Says:

Please continue yo pray for all the innocents that need your voice, prayer heard by God, Joseph, Our Virgin Mother Mary, and Our Lord, Jesus. A good start in La Crosse WI, despite the rains in the morning – people came out to witness for life. We had over 100 people – all ages- and several clergy join us for a Rally on Sunday – and more than 50 stayed to pray in the rain that day too – to “wake” up our community to the evils of abortionin our midst at one of our local medial facilities. The Holy Spirit is moving the heart and minds and bodies of the faithful to put their faith into action – God is good, All the time. Peace and courage to all the prayer warriors – especially those praying through the nights.

We had a great start to our campaign in Worcester MA with over 65 people coming to a candle light vigil. The offices of Planned Parenthood were open late and the staff watched and photographed us from their windows. Please God, may their eyes be opened and their hearts be changed.

  17. KATHY AND MIKE Says:

We are so proud of all the prayer supporters who pray in all kinds of weather at the Planned Parenthood in Columbia, MO.

God has truly answered our prayers and His is the victory!
