DAY 20: 256 babies saved!

March 11th, 2012 by admin

It’s another Good News Monday! So I’ll get right to the information I know you want to hear. So far during this 40 Days for Life campaign, we are aware of 256 babies who have been saved from abortion!

Here are just a few of the 256 stories of mothers who changed their minds.

A young woman walked past 40 Days for Life vigil participants and straight into Planned Parenthood.

“She was not able to receive any free services or options counseling,” said Brian in St. Louis, but “she was however showered in prayer the entire time she was in the abortion facility.”

Those prayers were answered. The woman left Planned Parenthood and spoke to one of the volunteers. She said while she was inside Planned Parenthood, she just didn’t feel right. She had changed her mind and decided against the abortion.

“We must remember that it’s not by human hands that these children are saved,” Brian said, “but instead by the work of the Holy Spirit.”

Vigil participants prayed as they watched a difficult scene unfold. A woman had arrived for an abortion. The child’s father, who was opposed to the abortion, tried his best to stop her — until the security guard finally ushered him out of the abortion center. He then waited in the parking lot.

The woman remained in the building, and didn’t come out until hours later — after the abortionist had left for the day. She finally walked out, she got into the car with the baby’s father … and they began to drive away.

Bob, one of the volunteers praying outside the abortion center, said the car approached the group and stopped. “They told us they had changed their minds and were going to keep their baby.”

It was, Bob said, an emotional moment. “The radiance of their smiles in realizing they had not done what their consciences had undoubtedly told them was wrong was amazing. What an experience. Praise God!”

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA

At the 40 Days for Life vigil in Lincoln, Sue watched as a young woman walked out of Planned Parenthood and sat down on the steps. “I thought maybe she was having second thoughts,” she said.

“When I got her attention and it was quiet, I asked if she wanted to talk,” Sue explained. “She said she had decided against the abortion, and gave me a huge smile.”

Sue and the other volunteers then prayed for the young woman and her child’s safety. “I am sure God is saving more babies here,” she said.

COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND

Janice says several women leaving the abortion center in College Park have told vigil participants that they did not have abortions — because they saw the people who were praying outside.

“Come pray in front of the clinic and help save lives,” Janice said. “You really can make a difference! If you are unable to join us in front of the clinic, please say an extra prayer for the unborn. Each life saved — as well as their families and friends — will be forever grateful.”

As we hit the midway point of this 40 Days for Life, let’s double our efforts and finish strong!

  1. Gregg Nicholl Says:

Sunday, March 11th, my fifteen-year-old son and I attended a prayer vigil outside a Planned Parenthood in Cincinnati, Ohio where abortions are currently taking place. We parked the car, crossed the street, and walked up to the black iron fence that surrounded the facility. Almost instantly, tears began to flow from my eyes and would not stop; my heart felt like it was being wrenched in my chest. My son felt the same overwhelming weight of sadness that seemed to ooze from the red brick pores of the building. The only words he spoke during the vigil were when we first approached that fence: “It feels so sad.” He later told me that he did not want to speak out of fear the tears would begin with him and he would be reduced to a sobbing mess on the concrete sidewalk. The vigil concluded and we began to drive home. My son, as most teenagers do, instantly pulled out his cellphone and began calling his friends. I overheard him tell one after another, “I don’t care what they’re telling you in school- that’s a life inside a woman, not just a blob of flesh or a tumor! Don’t ever get an abortion! Don’t ever participate in it or encourage someone to do it! Don’t” I was taken aback. I had never seen him exhibit such a conviction. The vigil changed him. I think it changed both of us in ways we could not have imagined.

    Haverhill, Massachusetts:
We had a save at the Haverhill 40 Days for Life Vigil.   A man was walking out and I asked him who he had in there and he said my daughter.  I said is their anyway you can change her mind that is your grandchild.   As he was walking back in I said we are praying for you out here and he turned and gave me the the thumbs up.   About 10 minutes later, he and his teenage daughter were walking out and I asked is she going to keep the baby and he said we’re still talking about it.  So I dropped my 40 Days for Life sign and went over to their car and he rolled down his window and I passed him the local Pregnancy Care Center’s brochure and his daughter gave me a smile.   I’m still praying for them because they live in a world that will make them feel it’s okay to have an abortion.   Another amazing thing happened that day when a woman I met at a retreat showed up to pray with me. Later in the day she sent me this email: “Wow!  What a powerful experience today was for me to stand outside the clinic with you and the others.  You are so amazing to be so involved in this campaign against abortion. I want to spread the word and awareness.  Keep praying. You are an inspiration. And a hope.”

  4. Dave Mattozzi Says:

Let us all pray for an end to abortion.

  5. Patti Sharpe Says:

Yesterday, Fr. Joseph, who is on the Respect Life committee in his parish, came again to pray with a group in front of Downey’s Family Planning Associates. While some were praying, 2 of our women were talking to girls outside the clinic for several minutes, but they went inside, and Fr. Joseph said let’s pray some more for them. Within five minutes they hurried out the door and our counselors walked around the corner to ask them why they left. The girl had decided to keep the baby! It was thrilling for Fr. Joseph to see “a save” for the first time in answer to prayers. May more clergy join the prayer battle and be blessed immensely along with the laity!

  6. Sherry Reed Says:

I feel so blessed to be a part of the 40 Days for Life in Mobile, AL. I think we are up to about 9 babies saved locally. One young lady touched me so. Abortion day, she and a male friend arrived with a baby about 15mos old on the man’s hip. The parking lot was full so they parked across the street from Planned Parenthood at the Women’s Resource Ctr. A sidewalk counselor tried talking to them as they rushed past her to get into the abortion clinic, the man listened intently to her and never looked away. The woman rushed inside the clinic. Within a few minutes she came out, talked to him and went back inside. After a long while she came out and they walked back to their car. A lady at the Women’s resource ctr was outside and spoke to them, and they went inside. Today I learned she changed her mind on having an abortion. She is expecting twins. PTL!

  7. Pastor Jim Says:

I had never heard of “40 Days for Life” but a church member asked if a representative could speak @ our church. I have always been very Pro-Life and what she shared encouraged our people and me to at least pray for the mother’s and children. I hadn’t really expected to actually to go to one of the prayer sites, but I certainly did pray from my home or office. Then on a Tuesday I had an open schedule from about 4:00 pm on and I had the thought (which I take to be from God), “Why don’t I just drive over there?”
After finding it on mapquest I went there, met Katherine, one of our leaders, and other friendly volunteers. They gave me a sign that says, “Pray To End Abortion”. So I walked up and down, carrying my sign so passing cars could see it. And it was such a rewarding experience that I have gone back several times. When I’m there the time flys by as I really pray and sing praises about what God is doing at all of the Abortion Clinics.
When I started carrying my sign I thought, “This isn’t going to change any one’s mind”, but then I saw that the emphasis is on PRAYER: What we can’t do God certainly can, and it is wonderful to see Him doing great things at both of the of the clinics in our city.
Thank You, Lord, for letting me be a small but important part of what You are doing in the lives of these as-yet-unbirthed children, their mothers, and their fathers.
