The deadline to apply TO LEAD a local 40 Days for Life campaign in your community this fall is TOMORROW, Tuesday, July 31.

Before every campaign I hear, “Shawn, I feel like maybe I’m supposed to do this, but I’m not sure if I can.”

Yes, leading a local campaign can be a challenge. But this IS a leap of faith and we’ve seen countless people take that leap. God always supplies the necessary grace when people respond to His call — and Jesus tells us, “Be not afraid!”

But it’s important to always remember WHY we do this.

Just a few days ago, David Bereit and I spoke at a small pro-life luncheon in Maryland, where we shared numerous stories of people who took that leap of faith … and the life-saving (and soul-impacting) victories that God accomplished through their faithfulness.

If you are trying to discern the unique role that God has for YOU in this life-saving work — or just need a shot in the arm of positive, uplifting encouragement — make time today to watch or listen to this recording.

If you know in your heart that your town NEEDS this life-saving campaign, know that with God’s grace you can overcome whatever obstacles are holding you back.

Just remember WHY we do this, and then apply to lead a local 40 Days for Life campaign (online or by mail) at:

(If you’re not feeling the call to leadership, please take a moment to pray for those who are discerning this step of faith.)

Yours in Christ,

Shawn Carney

PS: Just a reminder that the applications are only for LEADING local 40 Days for Life campaigns. To take part in the campaign from September 26 to November 4, no application is required.

thank you for sending me the inspirational video. I used to do pro life talks in schools many years ago but it got very difficult to get into schools and I have 6 children of my own so time was very tight.

I do not feel that I have the skills to lead any campaign but will pray and would consider helping. I think abortions in Cornwall take place in our hospital in the city of Truro but am not too sure.

I will pray that someone will come forward.

Dubuque, Iowa will be doing 40 Days for Life. How I have longed for this. Our Planned Parenthood has moved into a better facility and is now including abortions. I have followed you each day these past few years. Now I will be part of the whole program. What a gift. Keep helping us as to how we are to do this well. Thanks to you and Shawn for your undying support to all of us. Sm Dolores Moes – Dubuque, IA

I am connected and excited about this campaign for life in September. I sign up through my parish and will still be a “prayer” at Forest Park on Wednesdays as soon as my schedule jells to know what time will fit.
Thanks for keeping me informed. Thanks Deb Mauller

  4. Joseph Mafofo Says:

The 40 days for life campaign is a positive sign affirming that “where sin hath abounded, grace hath abounded all the more”. I feel however, that we might be trying to treat a symptom rather than go right to the source of abortion. I think to win this battle on abortion we need to attack and pray many Holy Rosaries, perform acts of penance and practice Charity not for abortion but rather for CONTRACEPTION.

Can a soldier in battle hope to defeat the adversary by attacking the shower of bullets coming from his gun … or rather go right to the one doing the firing. CONTRACEPTION brought all these moral evils, abortion on demand, heightened prostitution and infidelity, breaking of homes and devaluation of marriage and the women.

Let’s implore Almighty God, through the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, through St Joseph her most chaste spouse, St Michael the defender of Almighty God’s family to END or at least reduce the widespread use of CONTRACEPTION. If we do that all the other moral evils including same-sex unions (misidentified as marriages) will rescind – let’s attack the real cause not only go after one of its symptoms.
