DAY 6: 51 babies saved

October 1st, 2012 by admin

We always like to start Monday mornings with good news … and on the first Monday of this campaign, there’s actually GREAT news!

So far since last Wednesday when the campaign started,
we have reports of 51 babies saved … that we know of!

Here are just a few of the stories of God’s blessings.

—————————————————–
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
—————————————————–

A woman driving out of the abortion facility’s parking lot stopped at the sidewalk and rolled down her window and called out to the prayer volunteers. They were too far away to understand what she was saying, so one of the volunteers moved closer to see what message she wanted to share.

She said she’d been forced to come schedule an abortion — although she never explained exactly what she meant, or who was pressuring her. But when she arrived to make the arrangements, she saw 40 Days for Life volunteers in prayer – and that made her realize she could not go through with the abortion.

“She very proudly proclaimed that she was now going to have the baby,” the volunteer said, “and once again thanked me for being out there praying for her. What a beautiful start to our 40 Days for Life!”

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA
—————————————————–

Two volunteers were praying while Yassin handed out information outside the abortion center. One young woman took the information, but simply walked inside.

On her way out, however, Yassin had a second chance to talk to her. “This time I gave her a fetal model and I asked her what was going on.”

She said she has a job but no health insurance, and that having a baby would be expensive.

Yassin told her there were ways around financial hardship — there were pro-life clinics that could provide free medical care, and other social services that would help her and her baby.

“She said that she changed her mind,” Yassin said. “She went back inside and got her money back! Thank you, Jesus!”

PEORIA, ILLINOIS
—————————————————–

Karen watched as a car stopped at the driveway as it was leaving the abortion facility. She noticed there were three women inside.

She went to see what was happening … knowing that they had not been inside long enough for an abortion to have taken place.

A woman in the front seat glanced at a companion in the back seat and said, “She did not have the abortion. She was afraid to go through with the procedure.”

—————————————————–
BEAUMONT, TEXAS
—————————————————–

A couple from out of town parked down the street from the abortion center and got out of their car. Their path to the facility’s door took them right past the prayer volunteers at the 40 Days for Life vigil.

The couple never made it inside.

After discussing their situation with the volunteers, the young man and woman decided that they would keep their baby … and that they would get married soon. They also set up an appointment the following day at a pro-life clinic.

Said Eileen in Beaumont, “Praise Jesus for this miracle!”

Here’s the link to today’s devotional.

I love it! I think it’s such a great, organized way to pray to end abortions. I’ve been reading the devotionals and prayers every day, and these stories of lives saved are so encouraging! At the pregnancy center I volunteer at we have a girl considering abortion now, so please pray for her!

  2. Alma Maish Says:

I love the daily devotions, prayers and stories of those who have decided to have their babies. I am inspired to work even harder for pro-life and the unborn and their mothers. Thank you for starting this daily devotion. You are doing God’s work and will be blessed and rewarded by the Father of all.

  3. Mary Bonello Says:

Thank you for the email. It is very encouraging to read that 51 babies have been saved. Prayer breaks rocks, we always pray for this cause and I have attended prayer vigils in the past but this time my daughter needs my help as she has a month old baby who is also lucky to have made it as when she was 12 weeks pregnant she was told that she was at high risk of having a Down syndrome baby and that she should have an amniocentesis test. I advised her to get a second opinion and prayed a lot for her, her husband and the baby and asked others to pray as well especially the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary and thanks be to God and Our Blessed Mother when she attended the hospital to see the doctor there she was told that the result of the scan was incomplete and that she was not high risk as the G.P. had told her. When I got this news I was on my way to pray outside the abortion clinic which I continued to do and there I spoke to a lady, Clare who told me that she had an article that had appeared in the Sunday Herald some months before by an American radiographer who said that these tests are doing more harm than good as he knew of some who went along with having an amniocentesis test and found that the baby was healthy but then after a couple of weeks miscarried, how terrible. We need to pray hard that women, especially pregnant women are respected and cared for properly not put through so much stress and worry. Unfortunately money seems to be more important than anything else. Prayer and fasting surely must be the best weapon. Your sister in Christ, Mary.

  5. Madonna Susan Douglas Says:

While I live in the mountains, and am saying the novena. We live too far away to drive to a clinic, but, I have chosen the CHAN one you mentioned in your first announcement. I appreciate reading how our prayers are influencing life.

  6. Walter Whidden Says:

51 babies saved so far. WOW!! God is answering our prayers.

  7. Helen Bolfing Pryor Says:

The success stories, the intention, the scripture, the reflection and
the prayer were all beautiful and so very inspiring. Reading them was
a good way to start the week for me. I am so impressed at the work
that you do and so grateful that you do this. Please keep up the
good work. I will be praying.

  8. Shelly Alfaro Says:

Thank you thank you for your service.

  9. Elaine Raynor Says:

Thank you Shawn and all the people who God entrusted with this very important job..to help end abortions. He gave you a job and you are doing it well. Praise our Lord, Jesus Christ.

  10. Dyanne Says:

Veronica, we pray and agree that the young girl you mention who is considering abortion will develop such a maternal bond with her son or daughter that the thought of killing the baby would become abhorrent to her. May the Holy Spirit touch her heart, soften it and bring to her mind ways to make it though this time of uncertainty … and may she come out on the other side fiercely pro-life!

  11. Bob Says:

Thanks for your service, I pray for the success of your efforts.

  12. Valerie Says:

Ponder this: On Saturday, in one minute, I counted 50 cars passing by us on Route 441, in Wellington, Florida, heading south, at our “40 Days for Life” prayer vigil in front of the new Planned Parenthood facility. Multiply that times 2 (50 cars also heading north), and then multiply that number times 6 hours (9 a.m. until 3 p.m.) and multiply that number times 60 minutes in an hour. If we assume that each car contained one or two people (some had more), this means we gave public witness against Planned Parenthood/abortion to 30,000 – 50,000 people in one day! Amazing!

  13. Rosemary malone Says:

It is so wonderful and encouraging to read about the 40 days campaigns going on . We really need one here in Wichita. Ks for life will be fighting a battle here soon if the party planning to re-open the Dr Geo. Tiller Clinic again keeps pursuing it. Please keep us in your prayers.

  14. Bobbie Says:

I am the local leader for a new campaign. We have only 5 ladies who have taken a few hours here and there….and are struggling to get responses from churches and other prolife folks. Mostly, even in our conservative area, fear abounds. Fear of confrontation, of politics, of what or how to do it, of just standing up for what you believe. It’s been tiring trying to do the hours, plus raise consciouness….but….the benefits and results of the vigil are amazing!
    My schedule:
Day one in five hours, many smiles, waves and thumbs ups. Ten vehicles stopped to ask about the vigil or to give thanks. One lady stopped and shared her story. Christian, pregnant with third child, needing surgery, mother just died, she opted for abortion. She said the center gave good counsel, and only blamed herself but feels no peace and is sad. I got to show her God’s love and mercy and pray with her.
Day three in two hours, more smiles and more thanks. A woman stopped and said her 21 yr. old stepdaughter had just left another Planned Parenthood and is trying to decide…I gave local Pregnancy Center info to pass on.
Today, Day 6 a couple of cars stopped and encouraged me and I got to meet a staff member from Planned Parenthood who came out to send me away in protection of their clients. I calmly explained what we were doing and that we had a permission/permit to assemble through Nov. 4. She strongly pointed out they do not perform abortions and I gently said “But, you do refer and we are praying for you and the staff, the clients and babies.” She said that she needed no prayer and marched off….so, I quietly prayed for her!!
I also prayed God would send his angels to surround and protect me and moments later, a man named Norman, showed up out of the blue. He said he saw me the other day and promised himself, if I was there again, he would stop to help and give moral support!
    I can’t wait till tomorrow!!

  15. Jean and Don Says:

Thank you Shawn and David for following the Holy Spirit. We also thank our pro life leader here in Northwest Ohio, Ann Barrick. With your guidance we can be so much more involved in 40DFL and in our journey of prayer towards the end of abortion. We were praying today at the Center For Choice in Toledo and there was no activity but for one car. Praise God! One of the greatest blessings of praying during 40DFL is the wonderful prayer warriors you meet. There is instant friendship established and joining with these new friends in united prayer is so powerful. As we pray at this terrible place there is a reflection of a power pole in the window. This pole gives off the image of Jesus’ cross and we know we are never alone even if we pray with no one else there. That is great comfort and security as only Jesus can give.

  16. Kevin Williams Says:

I heartily second and say Amen to Dyanne’s prayer for the girl Veronica mentioned who is considering abortion.

“Fiercely pro-life!” Dyanne you just gave me a new favorite pro-life name to munch on. May we all become ferocious pro-lifers! :-)
May the words of Jeremiah be our portion as we go to battle the darkness of abortion. “Order the buckler and shield and draw near to battle! Harness the horses and mount up ye horsemen! Stand forth with your helmets, polish your spears, put on your armor!” And may the following verse be the portion of the principalities and demonic entities we oppose there! “Why have I seen them dismayed and turned back? Their mighty ones are beaten down and have speedily fled and did not look back for fear was all around says The Lord!” Jeremiah 46:3-5

  17. Pat McCutchen Says:

    Hello Shawn,

God is awesome! It is such a blessing to hear beautiful statements and testimonies of how prayers and outreach to those planning to have an abortion have made such a difference and lives have been saved. 51 babies saved so far! I have no doubt there will be many more. I will keep praying. It’s a blessing to do so. Thank you and everyone at 40 days for Life for your faithfulness and service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How wonderful to see the Lord using you dear friends, by having you right there waiting for these women to respond at their time of desperation.

  19. Cindy Says:

Bobble….what town are you in? I will send up prayers that our Lord raise up an army of prayer warriors to stand by your side as well as an army of angels to protect you. God bless!

  20. Sue Bentley Says:

PRAISE GOD!!!! 51 lives SAVED…just WONDERFUL. Dear Shawn, we have some good news too. As Maria and myself were praying outside the Fertility Control Clinic, East Melbourne a young couple pulled up in their car, quickly got out, and very quickly walked into the “so called” Clinic, the young woman looked back at us… we lifted the intensely of our prayer and about 15-20 mins later they came out again. But unfortunately the young man was very angry and was speaking to the young woman rather aggressively in a different language, they got into their car and drove off…we have been praying for them on and off ever since…asking St. Joseph intercession for the young man to change his heart…mind etc. to become a protector for this baby and his wife, girlfriend. And for the young woman to remain resolute in keeping her baby, staying strong and may our Loving God put somebody in their path to aid them. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THIS YOUNG COUPLE.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL, MAY 40 DAYS BE SUCCESSFUL IN ENDING ABORTION…around the world.
