DAY 13: 142 saved (that we know of)
On Monday mornings during the campaign, we start the week with the best news I can think of. During this 40 Days for Life campaign, God is answering prayers. So far, there have been 142 babies saved from abortion — that we know of!

TACOMA, WASHINGTON

“Your prayers were answered as a young mother was leaving Planned Parenthood,” said John in Tacoma. “She stopped in the driveway to talk with the sidewalk counselor.”
The young woman explained that she had decided not to go through with the abortion. “Her boyfriend and all parents were pressuring her to abort and she was going to, but she explained that she had been in a Christian school and knew that it was wrong so she was changing her mind,” John said.
He noted another day recently when Planned Parenthood closed early — and no one is sure why. “Two young girls called across the parking lot to ask if we knew why it was closed,” he said.
“I noticed a white sheet of paper on the door and asked them what it said. They replied that it just said Planned Parenthood was closed.” The prayer volunteers gave the girls directions to a pro-life pregnancy center.

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA

A volunteer in Pittsburgh spent a good while talking to a very young girl and her boyfriend. “I gave her the list of places to go for help and two other items. Finally she hugged me and told me that she would not have the abortion.”
She and her boyfriend continued to hang around and talk for quite a while. They left the area, but then returned to eat lunch at a sandwich shop nearby.
“Each time she saw me she waved to me,” the volunteer said. “Please pray for her to keep her promise not to abort. The guy was very quiet, but I could sense that he was not really happy about how things turned out, so he might try to pressure her.”

FOREVER GRATEFUL

Here’s a personal thank-you note a 40 Days for Life team recently received:
“I wanted to thank you all for the 40 Days for Life. My sister has been having a really hard time in her life and then found out she was pregnant. She made a hard decision that I was against — to have an abortion.
“I tried everything to talk her out of it and she said she felt like she didn’t have any other options … She was scared about going through another pregnancy and also raising another baby.
“She went to the clinic yesterday and when she pulled up everyone was out there with signs and their own children and it made her think about the decision she had made to have an abortion and about the two little girls she had at home.
“I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for the time and effort you put in to saving lives and I wanted to let you know you saved a life yesterday and I am forever grateful.”
Here’s the link to today’s devotional.
How many more lives will be saved over the next 27 days of this campaign thanks to your prayers and faithfulness?
I can’t wait to find out!
Yours For Life,

My fellow sidewalk counselor, Jeff, had a chance to speak to a young, beautiful Hispanic couple as they went in. I did not hear that conversation, but I could see that they were listening sincerely. They took his literature. Later, they came out and the young man told me, “Thank you for being here. What you are doing is good. Really, thank you. I am glad you are here.” I got to speak to them about their decision. They told me they only came in to get a pregnancy test. Now they were going home to think. I encouraged them to visit the Lighthouse, and told them that circumstances are temporary, but their decision is forever. If they are concerned about being able to afford a child, God would make a way. The Lighthouse center would be happy to supply their baby needs and so much more – all for free. I told them to ask God for wisdom and trust him. They actually seemed happy when they got into their cab. I waved good-bye to them and they both waved back to me, smiling.

Praise report and Prayer Request from our part of the state:
Saturday I drove by a group raising money for diapers. Curious, I turned around and went back to ask who they were collecting for; thinking it might be a new Pregnancy Help Center in our area. It was… sort of!!!
Neighbors were helping a couple that had just given birth to triplets.
Two boys and a girl! How cool is that!
I was told that the mother had been on bed rest in the hospital for the last 89 days of her pregnancy. This couple had tried for 5 years and had given up. They were preparing to adopt.
Even though I don’t know this couple this news made my day. Three little survivors of abortion in a day when it would have been so easy for the mother to abort one, two or all of them. I gave a donation and drove off quickly before the ladies could see I was crying.
Please say a prayer for this couple and their new family that God will provide all their needs.
Praise God! He is answering our prayers for the lives of babies!

God is so good, He always provides us with everything we need. It is so inspiring that on Sunday He did just that. Praise be to Him. Thanks for all who do go out to pray at the abortion sites; I cannot, but remember you all in my prayers everyday. Thank you and God Bless and keep you safe.

I received the news from one of the sidewalk counselors who engages the women as they enter the driveway at the clinic where our vigil takes place in Bridgeport, CT that a pregnant woman left last Saturday without aborting. She walked out of The Summit Women’s Center and told volunteers that she would never go there again because it was disgusting! She did not kill her baby!

Great News In Rochester, MN!
While it is not as exciting as a babie’s life being saved, this is none the less very exciting for us here. There are several businesses that are located in the same shopping complex where Planned Parenthood is located and where we are praying. There is a Chiropractic office and one of our prayer volunteers goes there for care. There is a Chiropractic Dr. that she sees, and that grown woman that is her dr. has always supported PP and goes there for her own “health care”. Our prayer volunteer has continued to be kind to her, while explaining our purpose for the past few campaigns. While all along, this Dr. has not agreed with what we were doing, her heart has finally been changed. She had to go for a yearly checkup at PP the other day, and as she said to our volunteer, she was embarrassed that we would see her go in there (PP). Our prayer warrior was able to tell her other stories of post-abortive women, and facts about PP doing RU486 Telemed abortions, and this Dr. has had a change of heart and made known to us that she will NO LONGER be going to PP for her personal care. Even when we don’t see it, we are impacting all of those who see us out praying! Hearts and minds are being changed for eternity!

I was blessed today with several opportunities to witness and pray for some whom I do not consider enemies, but who probably consider me one. I went directly to our vigil site – Options Clinic in La Crosse WI- from Mass and receiving Communion. I spread Blessed Salt around the building and greeted the workers as they arrived. Though I was not holding a “visible” sign, they all know me and looked at me funny, why was I there at 9 AM – our vigil is usually from 2-6 PM. Being filed with the Spirit and much courage this morning I greeted each worker and told them I was there just for them this morning – praying just for them. One thanked me, though I am not sure if it was sarcastically, and another just smiled and said “just for me?”
Then when I arrived home I was able to witness on live radio : Rlelvant Radio -check it out on the web: relevantradio.com- the show was talking about fasting and making it “Romantic”. I was able to mention 40 Days for Life and how we are praying and fasting in communion for and end to abortion and especially for the workers in abortion and family planning clinics. Fr. Bonaenture had heard about 40 Days for Life and gave a great
encouragement to us to keep up the good works. Remember to ask your Pastor to pray for you and with you. And please pray especailly for our Christian brothers and sisters who are living in spiritual blindness as they work in the abortion and family planning clinics knowing their work is contrary to God’s will and the natural law. I keep you all in prayer and keep up the Good Works!

WHEN AN ABORTION CLINIC OPENED IN OUR CITY, GEORGE OBTAINED THE “CITY PERMIT” THAT ALLOWED US TO PRAY ON THE PUBLIC SIDEWALK AND TO INTERCEDE “FOR LIFE” EVERY SATURDAY MORNING AT THE CLINIC.
THANKS TO “THE 40 DAYS FOR LIFE” MISSION OUR PRAYERS CHANGED TO DAILY PRAYERS FOR 40 DAYS TO END ALL ABORTIONS! TODAY AS I WAS PRAYING THE ROSARY, FULFILLING MY HOUR COMMITMENT, I NOTICED A TALL YOUNG MAN WALKING TOWARDS ME. HE STOPPED, SMILED THANKED ME FOR BEING THERE, AND POLITELY INTRODUCED HIMSELF. IMMEDIATELY HE SHARED HIS TESTIMONY, AND SHOWED ME A PICTURE OF A PRECIOUS 3 YEAR OLD GIRL,THAT HE IS RAISING ALONE! HER CONCEPTION OCURRED WHEN HER MOTHER (HIS GIRLFRIEND) WAS VIOLENTLY ATTACKED, BEATEN & RAPED. DUE TO HER PERMANENT DISABILITIES THAT RESULTED FROM THE ATTACK, SHE BECAME DEPRESSED & COMMITTED SUICIDE. I THANK GOD FOR THIS YOUNG MAN AND THE FATHERLY LOVE HE HAS FOR THIS CHILD OF GOD!

It is so awesome how, as we see on this blog, involvement in 40 Days for Life and the pro-life mission connects people from everywhere.
A couple hours ago I got a phone call from Brother Max in St Paul, MN. He had read my blog post here last Friday about talking to a man in front of PP in Chapel Hill, and thinking maybe I should have had more info about PP handy. He called to say he was sending some free literature from a national pro-life group. Thank you Brother Max.
Yesterday I shared on FB a post with a couple of non-graphic pics and explanations of different abortion procedures. It really spoke to a young man, he and his wife have been family friends and like family for years. We are now having a conversation about pro-life involvement and I pray he is being inspired to be involved in the pro-life mission. He has some great insights. I shared with him about how young people are involved in groups like Students for Life of America, though he is out of school.
I have been inspired just having finished the free online training course put on by 40 Days for Life, Ending Abortion. It is from 2010 but I had just heard about it and devoured it in a few days, mostly today. It is great. endingabortion.com
