DAY 20: 245 babies – and mothers – spared
Here we are – Day 20. I can’t believe we’re at the halfway point already! There’s still a lot of praying to be done, but it’s OK to pause briefly today and count the blessings God has already provided.
As of today, we have reports of …
… 245 babies (and their mothers, of course) spared from abortion – that we know of!
Here are some of their stories.

“I finally met my match,” said Dan in Milwaukee. “I had completely dressed for the worst – but this snow came down fast and hard – and then kept coming,” he said. “At times, it seemed like it was coming down sideways! I would have understood if our vigilers had stayed home – but they kept showing up!”
Around 7:30 that evening, a woman struck up a conversation with one of the volunteers. “How many babies have you saved out here doing this?” she asked. “Are you really doing any good harassing women?”
Dan provided the answer – 294 saves in the past three years. She said, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Dan responded, “Let’s hope so.”

Five minutes later, a young mom and her support person came out. She looked lost, so Dan asked her if she was going to be OK. She said, “I’ll be fine.”
Dan then asked, “Is the baby OK?” She said, “Yes – baby is good, too … yeah – I’m keeping him.”
Twenty minutes after that, a young mom came out in tears. “It’s going to be OK,” she said. “I’m keeping the baby.”
When Dan encouraged her to seek help at the pro-life pregnancy center, smiled and said, “Thank you – thank you for being out here for us.” Dan responded, “You and your baby made it all worth it – all of it!”

Monica had some terrific news to pass along from the 40 Days for Life vigil in Glendale. “Within a week we have had 10 turnarounds!”
For reasons unknown, Planned Parenthood was closed on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday of the previous week.
“They are normally open on those days,” Monica explained. Six of those turnarounds took place on those days the facility was not open. “The sidewalk counselors were able to help and give information to the local crisis pregnancy center,” she said. “I praise God and thank all the people who are praying to end abortion.”

“My family and I just witnessed a turnaround!” wrote an excited 40 Days for Life volunteer in Pensacola.
They watched as a young couple drove into the abortion center parking lot – but never got out of their car. After a while, they backed up to where the vigil participants were praying … and took their picture.
The woman rolled the window down, and announced with a big smile, “I didn’t do it! I’ll bring the baby by to show!”
“Praise almighty God!” the volunteer said. “Peaceful, prayerful witness works!”
Here’s the link to today’s devotional.
As we hit the midway point of this 40 Days for Life, let’s double our efforts and finish strong!

2210. It’s the address for the abortion mill that I stare at each time I come to pray during 40 Days for Life in Fort Wayne. It’s somthing that I have done now for 7 campaigns. We pray with hope and conficence that someday we will write to tell you that our clinic, too, has closed. In the past 5 years, the abortion rate in our county has declined 56%. 40 Days for Life plays a small part in this pro-life success. We also have a warrior who runs our Right to Life center. She is a hero for the unborn along with many, many others who have spoken out for the past 40 years.
Psalm 22:10 – “From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.”
Today I shared this Psalm with a hospitalized friend and her nurse overheard us discuss the coincidence of this Psalm and the address 2210. It lead her to share with us her own abortion near miss 15 years ago. She came within 2 days of aborting her baby and then just couldn’t do it. Her daughter was given up for adoption to a couple that she spoke of with much joy. She gets pictures and stories regularly and shared with us a picture of a beautiful teenage girl. We talked about how she can tell us this story with peace and happiness as opposed to the sorrow and regret that she could have been feeling.
I thank God for 40 Days for Life and the opportunity it gives me to do my small part to bear witness and pray for a day when abortion will be unthinkable.

I am not Catholic and have not participated in your 40 Days for Life…I am an evangelical Christian and I lead an outreach once a week at Planned Parenthood year round, an ongoing lifestyle of sacrifice for this passion. I praise your efforts and I am elated to hear of how the Holy Spirit has worked through you as a conduit for transformation. We have seen 11 women choose life since September, all of which we remain in contact with, pray with, and continue to offer support whereever needed. We are planning a baby shower for a few of the ladies who are due in June and July. When the Lord Jesus put this passion in my heart, I did not understand at first. I have had an abortion, repented, and had no shame or continued guilt knowing I have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb of God. The Lord wants me to share with these women the one thing that I did NOT have when I was faced with this decision: a voice of Truth. Not one person said to me “No! you don’t have to do that! I will help you!” or “That is not your only option!” or offered me the Love of Christ. So, that is what we do. Year round…we offer prayer first, for whatever decisions these ladies are facing and that opens the door (usually their car window!) to so much. Thank you for all that you do.
