Parking and Where to Stand

Parking Update - Read To Avoid Being Towed!

This year there are a few changes to the parking situation.

There are a number of businesses who have generously agreed to allow us to park in their lot. They do still have multiple customers during the day, so please be respectful and only park in the spots they have given us. If you park in a different spot, you risk being towed. Below are the 3 options you have for parking. The map (sorry for the poor graphics! :) ) indicates where these are.

  • 265 Liquor is allowing us to park in three spots. The spots are in the southeast corner, closest to Crossover and Planned Parenthood.
  • Neurosurgery Spine Center is allowing us to park in their side parking, which are the spots to the east of their building. This is indicated by the blue area below. After 4:30, you can park anywhere in their lot, indicated by the orange area in the map.
  • Brandon Circle is a road two blocks south of Planned Parenthood. This is a residential neighborhood and we can legally park here as long as we don't block driveways or mailboxes. Last campaign we could walk down the west side of the road, but due to construction, this path is blocked off. You can cross Crossover to the East side of the road and walk down that side, but please be careful crossing Crossover here. Make sure that you can cross the road quickly because you cannot see the cars coming over the hill.

Where to Stand
We do not have permission to be on Planned Parenthood's property. There is public property running alongside of Crossover. The divide between public and private property is indicated by orange stakes in the ground. Make sure you do not cross over these oranges stakes or Planned Parenthood can call the police. The best place to stand is the area highlighted in green in the map above. You can also stand on the east side of the road if you would like to hold up signs for cars.

The official city platt can be downloaded here. The green area on the platt indicates the public right of way. Please print this out and take it with you when you go out to pray. If anyone  tells you that you cannot stand there, you can show them the platt, explaining to them it is public property and you do have a right to be there.
