Please take note of the following guidelines when participating in the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil outside of the Hope Clinic for Women (abortion clinic). All registrants are expected to respect these guidelines as a condition to their participation.
Statement of Peace - If you do not agree with this Statement, you are not welcome to participate.
Greetings - When you arrive at vigil site, please greet your co-vigilers and introduce yourself, but please do not engage in prolonged chit chat. We are there to pray and sacrifice, not to engage in idle talk. The Vigil Campaign is meant to be a time of intense prayer and solemnity.
Prayer Zone - Participants are asked to stand on sidewalks in front and on the side without blocking entrances to the Hope abortion mill or its parking lot. Please keep off Hope Clinic parking lot and property.
This is meant to be a peaceful vigil. We do not want to be disruptive to other businesses in the area. You can sit in your car to pray or bring a lawn chair if you cannot stand for prolonged periods of time.
If approached by street people/panhandlers, please refrain from giving money.
Your role is to go and pray, however if the Holy Spirit leads you to talk to some of the clients or if some of them approach you, treat them with the love of Christ. If there is another group praying or others offering sidewalk counseling, please do not stare or gawk at the clients if they approach the counselors. Instead, keep your head down and pray hard.
Engagement - If a member of the public wants to engage you on the issue of abortion, move away from the "prayer zone" so as to not disturb the other vigilers. You are not required to engage anyone, but if you do so, please show some decorum and common sense. Do not raise your voice or become animated. Simply state your views calmly, rationally, and with Christian charity. Focus on keeping this vigil silent and prayerful. The 40 Days for Life Campaign does not support abortion under any circumstances, rape and incest included.
Pray Quietly - The 40 Days for Life Vigil Campaign is meant to be a silent prayer time. However, if you want to pray audibly, please move some distance away to respect those who wish to pray in silence.
Depository - The Small Victories Ultrasound Van is complete with pro-life literature and pro-life resources. Signs are optional.
Campaign Vigil Relief Phone Number - Vigilers are encouraged to bring their cellular phones with them to report emergencies. Please put them on vibrate so as not to disturb the praying.
