From February 22 - April 01, our community will be one of many joining together for a faith-filled, groundbreaking, co-ordinated pro-life mobilization -- 40 Days for Life.
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

40 days of prayer and fasting

40 days of peaceful vigil

40 days of community outreach
We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout Canada.

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

Why pray in front of GGH:
At this point in time there are no doctors that will perform an abortion in Guelph. Which is incredible!! We thank God for this!! We believe it is largely because every single Saturday morning a group of pro-life Guelph residents gather in front of Guelph General and pray. They have been doing this for decades and we are so proud of their endurance and the example they have been for so many. However our local hospital still holds all equipment and space needed to perform abortions. The only thing missing is a doctor who will consent to begin them again. We believe that because our Saturday morning gatekeepers are guarding our city this possibility is being held back. But it is possible to go even further and see any chance of abortion service beginning again completely eliminated with removal of this abortion equipment and re-designation of this space altogether. As we know, this is accomplished through prayer. We pray and God moves on our behalf. If you do not have a time set aside to pray for the ending of abortion we urge you to sign up to participate in our local 40 Days for Life vigil by clicking the "Vigil Schedule" link at the top of this page.
All 40 Days for Life signs to use during your prayer slot will be located on the front porch of 79 Ontario Street. If you need assistance in locating this address please call the Right to Life office at 519-836-6311. Each person who takes a sign is responsible for bringing it back to the front porch of 79 Ontario street. Your integrity and faithfulness in this is greatly appreciated!
