                   Opening Mass and Vigil

       Wednesday, September 23, 2009

 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand,
and it gives light to all who are in the house.

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Matthew 5:14-16

If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people,

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,
will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

15Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.

                                                                                                                                   2 Chronicles 7

Blessed are they who hope in the Lord.
He is like a tree planted near running water,
That yields its fruit in due season,
and whose leaves never fade. Whatever he does, prospers.

Please join us each Wednesday evening 8:15 pm for a Candlelight Vigil at Hillcrest Clinic as we pray the Rosary together to bring an end to Abortion

(following 7:30 pm Mass at St Lawence Chapel
110 State Street Hbg, Pa.  All are welcome to attend!)

So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes. Daniel 9:3

O Victorious Lady! Thou who has ever such powerful influence with Thy Divine Son, in conquering the hardest of hearts, intercede for those for whom we pray, that their hearts being softened by the rays of Divine Grace, they may come to know the Truth, through Christ, our Lord.   Amen.

The Battle of Lepanto - In  1571, the  defeat of the Christians by the Ottoman Turks at Lepanto seemed imminent. Pope Pius V instructed Christians throughout Rome to call upon Our Lady. The great victory on October 7th, 1571 was attributed to Our Lady’s  intercession. Pope Pius V instituted "Our Lady of Victory" as an annual Feast to commemorate the victory. Let us call upon Our Lady's Intercession  for an end to Abortion!

Divine Infant, grant success to our endeavors!
