Regrets
Megan Petty represents an answered prayer of our campaign. We asked that God would send us post-abortive women to join us in our efforts to reach out to women that are faced with an unexpected pregnanacy or suuffering from a past abortion experience. "The truth is that most women don’t want abortions. Those who have abortions often do so based on inaccurate or inadequate information, non-support, and intense pressure. I was one of those women. When I was sixteen I told my Mom that I was pregnant and that my boyfriend told me he would marry me and that we could have the baby. My Mom said, " You are not going to marry that boy and you are not going to have this baby." I was told by both my Mother and the Family Planning clinic it was just a blob of flesh and that there would be no complications. I trusted my Mother that she would not do anything to hurt me and went with her to the abortion clinic. It is now 34 years later and I have never gotten over losing my child. I also have suffered greatly trying to have a baby and have not been able to. There are many complications from having abortions that I was not made aware of, such as the increase of drug use, depression, suicidal thoughts, and the chance of sterility and miscarriages. Fortunately there is help for the post abortive woman, unfortunately I can not go back and undo the damage that my abortion caused in my life. I regret my abortion and hope that the truth about abortion will be revealed so that women can make an informed choice."
