Soon we will be posting the blessings of the Fall's 40 Days for Life Campaign.
Lives saved:
Soon we will be posting the blessings of the Fall's 40 Days for Life Campaign.
Lives saved:
21 Babies saved at our two 40 Days for Life locations in OrangeCounty.
We know as well of other 13 babies that were saved from abortion at the FPA abortion facility located at Chapman Ave. This facility was not a 40 Days for life location, but people that regularly pray at that location continued to do so during the 40 Days for life campaign and reported 13 babies saved. PRAISE THE LORD!

Walk for Life:
The “Walk for Life” was attended by so many people, some estimate that between 250-300 people participated. We couldn’t Walk in front of PP because simply there was no space to walk on!! The block was FULL!!
Kathleen Eaton, President and founder of Birth Choice opened the Walk thanking everyone and sharing a little bit about the ministry of Birth Choice.
We were very blessed to have Bishop Frank Drzymkowski -from the Church of the Good Shepherd- lead us in prayer. We also had the presence of Fr, Chrysostom Baer from St. Michael’s Abby at the walk. Bishop Dominic Luong celebrated a beautiful Pro Life Mass at Holy Family Cathedral and with that we closed the Spring’s 40 Days for Life campaign.
Money Raised:
Close to $6,000 was raised in the Walk Benefiting Birth Choice Health Clinics. A BIG THANK YOU to All that participated!
A little girl’s plate of cookies saved a baby!
At the end of the walk, I heard the second part of the testimony of one of the babies that was saved last Saturday. Tim came to me with his daughter and told me that his little girl (of about 4 years old) told him before he left to PP: “take this plate of cookies and give it to a Mommy. Tell her to keep them so that she can give them to her baby when he is born”. When Tim approached one of the women that he talked to last Saturday morning he told her the message of his little daughter. The Woman broke into tears and the thought of not being able to give her baby the plate of cookies that Tim’s daughter sent her made her decide to keep her baby! What a beautiful testimony!
4 BABIES SAVED FROM ABORTION!
(20 Babies saved in OrangeCounty, that we know about!).
(16 Babies saved so far in OrangeCounty, that we know about!).
We are so excited to tell you this news.
Between the sadness of witnessing how so many lives were destroyed by abortion in a busy Saturday at the abortion mills, God gave us light and hope and the joy of touching the heart of 4 couples that chose LIFE for their baby.
At the Newport Beach location we were very blessed with 2 babies that were saved:
A few minutes after the group from St. Killian, Students and 2 Priests from St. Michael’s Abby and other volunteers left, we witnessed a baby being saved from abortion:
A couple was leaving the facility and I approached them to offer help. They opened their window and looked very overwhelmed, this was their first pregnancy and they weren’t prepared. They just booked their appointment for an abortion.
Bishop Frank, his wife Jeanette; Michelle and Jim (from St. Edward) kept praying and after talking to the couple about the effects of abortion and the real choices that they have, the father of the baby asked me where should they go for help. They left with a lot of information and willing to keep their baby! Thank you Jesus!
The other couple that chose life for their baby was also leaving the facility when we approached them. They already had 2 children and felt overwhelmed. The economic situation was too difficult to afford a third baby so they scheduled an abortion. After giving them information about fetal development and talking to them they said they would think about it. About an hour later I approached the couple thinking that this was a different couple. They said “yes, you just gave us the info and we are going to go to the CrisisPregnancyCenter that you referred us to” . The look in their faces was so much better! THANK YOU JESUS!
At the Tustin Location, Joan Okada reported that 2 women came into Planned Parenthood and Tim –a prayer volunteer- approached them. The women invited him to sit in their van. Tim talked to the woman into saving the baby! The women left PP parking lot, dropped Tim at the entrance and left! THANK YOU JESUS!
The last baby that we know about that was saved from abortion in this campaign took a little bit more effort from the prayer volunteer as he was talking to the couple behind a wall that didn’t allow him to see the complete face of the couple.
The man told Tim when he came in that he had been praying last night that her girlfriend would not abort and when they left he said it was a miracle, which it truly was. Also his wife also looked really happy. And we are truly thankful and happy to the Lord
Praise the Lord!
DAY 37, Thursday April 2nd
GREAT PARTICIPATION!
Local Reports.-
GREAT PARTICIPATION!
Local Reports.-
We have had very good participation, Thank you all!
I received these reports that wanted to share with you:
Dorli Buto from St. Vincent de Paul reported: “We had a great day yesterday (Wednesday) at the Birch St. abortion facility. A total of 62 people prayed over a period of 12 hours. Most of them were from SVDP but we had dedicated support also from St. Simon and Jude, St. Bonaventure, St. Mary by the Sea and Holy Spirit. Our Lord blessed us with a renewed spirit of hope and dedication knowing that our prayers are heard and answered in his perfect will and way. A huge thank-you for all of you who were out on the sidewalk and for all who prayed in their own way and place. Praise be to God and thanks to our Lady of Guadalupe for her special intercession”.
Today, our Lady of Fatima hosted the vigil at the Birch location and Dave Cortens reported that about 10 people signed up for the vigil. This is the first time they join us and I heard from the prayer volunteers that they want to continue this Ministry during the year! (So many people are asking to keep the vigil regularly after 40 Days ends on Sunday! More News about this project coming soon).
I was at the Birch location on Tuesday with St. Edward Pre School Moms, Wednesday with St. Vincent de Paul and today with Our Lady of Fatima and the spirit of the vigil is always prayerful and positive! Whether the group is big or small people are energized!
Frank, a prayer volunteer at the Birch location emailed me this afternoon “I am involved because I saw the 40 days of Life Vigil, and joined it. In fact, just got back from there to get your email. I try to take 2 or 3 days a week at my lunch break to hold a sign. I prefer the “Adoption is a Loving Option” sign. I’ve met some great people there. I also enjoy occasionally “getting the finger for Christ” from some passersby, but usually, people honk in support. (Although I got a good laugh today—one guy passing in a pick-up truck actually growled).”
People want to commit to pray regularly because they know it makes a difference and saves lives.
Mecki Grothues from Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Habra, reported that yesterday about 30 people participated in the morning outside Planned Parenthood in Tustin. And there were 4 babies in strollers, Hooray for their moms! She said that they have the strongest group of Hispanics Pro Lifers
Please spread the word about this effort, your testimony may inspire so many others to join us.

WE SAVED 4 BABIES!
(15 Babies saved so far in OrangeCounty, that we know about!).
Abe James -from St. Cecilia's Church- reported that last week a baby was saved while his Parish was hosting the prayer vigil.
He said that on March 24th around 8:00 am a couple came to Planned Parenthood and they saw them getting out of the car and back again. They decided to enter Planned Parenthood and the prayer volunteers prayed harder.
About 10 minutes later the couple came out and stopped at them. The woman was crying and told them that she cancelled the appointment! Praise the Lord for saving this baby!
Abe reported that about 100 people from St. Cecilia and the Knights of Columbus attended the prayer vigil of that day especially during the afternoon. What a great participation! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL! Thank you Father for joining us at the vigil!
They also witnessed a unique situation:
A plumber that was passing by decided to join them in prayer. The plumber told them that he didn’t have any job to do so he decided to stop and pray with them. In that group there were two other people who happen to be in need of a plumber for their house so they were happy to find one!
They not only witnessed a life being saved, but the prayer of a man looking for a job was answered too! THANK YOU JESUS!
(More pictures on the Photo Album, and more to come!)
The Newport Beach Location had a very well attended prayer Vigil last Saturday March 28th.
Mission San Juan Capistrano was hosting, and we also had the Divine Mercy Ministry from St. John Newman attending, J. Serra Catholic High School and and the Pro Life Ministry of Knott Avenue Christian Church (KACC) joining us at different times during the day.
The Pro Life Ministry of KACC began a new Ministry right after last Fall's 40 Days for Life campaign called "Abounding Grace" aiming to help women in crisis pregnancies and post abortion recovery.
Thank you all for joining us!

WE SAVED ANOTHER BABY!
(10 Babies saved so far in OrangeCounty, that we know about).
Wow! We had a very blessed and exciting day!
Joan Okada reported 4 babies that were saved today at the Planned Parenthood Facility:
In the first one a grandmother, daughter and granddaughter came walking up to Planned Parenthood at about 7:45am and the grandmother looked really distressed. Joan asked her what was wrong and she said that her daughter (16 years old) was pregnant with her second baby and had already a 3 year old and that she just couldn't take care of another one.
Joan said that they didn’t have a car and she and another prayer volunteer –Drew, from St. Joseph- offered to drive her to a crisis pregnancy center. Joan told them she would do anything she needed or get anything for her.
They even had an incident!: “While we were talking to her someone threw an egg at us and it got all over the grandmother and Drew helped her to clean her up. Drew talked to the little granddaughter about "Dora" and all the things kids like. They still decided to go into the clinic and we prayed for her.
About 15 min. later they came out and the grandmother said they couldn't go thru with it. Yeah God. I got so excited. I have her tel.# and she has mine and they are planning to go to Birth Choice. Alleluia!!!”
The next one was a couple who took information and went in and came out and waved them from the car with smiles.
In the third one, Laura from La Habra was also there and they thought the woman had already had an abortion so they offered information on Healing after an abortion. She took all kinds of information. Laura and Walt Hill from St. Joseph had a confirmation from her that she decided not to have an abortion. Alleluia Jesus!!!
In the fourth baby saved Joan said that “there were two girls coming out and waved and smiled excitedly, like they changed their minds. Antonio from La Habra who goes daily and speaks most Spanish pointed up to Jesus. They did not stop and tell us…we are believing for a fourth baby”.
PRAISE THE LORD!

Joan Okada reported that a couple entered to Planned Parenthood and as they were entering prayer volunteer Mary Ellen was outside and told them “Jesus Loves you!”. The couple entered and minutes later came back in tears. They decided to keep the baby! Thank you Jesus!
DAY 25, March 21st
The weekend didn’t pass by without saving another baby! Joan Okada reported that a man named Tim was outside Planned Parenthood when a couple arrived considering an abortion. Tim talked to the couple and they decided LIFE for their baby and left!
THANK YOU JESUS for another life saved!
THANK YOU JESUS for another life saved!
Great reports from some of the participating Parishes!
We also have some reports from participating Parishes:
From St Joseph’s Parish, Stephanie Richer reported that last March 14th they had between 50 to 70 parishioners came out over the course of the day to hold vigil. This was also thanks to her co-ministers, as they made a concerted effort to excite the people about this and get the information out to them regarding the 40 Days for Life campaign. Even their priests and one of their deacons took time out from what is a heavy workday for them to show up and witness for life. Their group “Jovenes para Cristo” also participated in the vigil with a lot of enthusiasm.
Stephanie said that Fr. John reflected how much participating in the vigil meant to him as a Catholic.
While this was St. Joseph's inaugural year in the 40 Days for Life campaign, Stephanie said it will not be their last!
THANK YOU Stephanie and all St. Joseph’s parishioners who participated! (Pictures to come soon!)
THANK YOU Stephanie and all St. Joseph’s parishioners who participated! (Pictures to come soon!)
From St Hedwig’s Parish Maria Concepcion Enriquez (Coco) reported that there were 90 people from her parish participating in the Vigil at Planned Parenthood in Tustin last March 15, and 92 people who pledged to pray & fast during this 40 days. This was great!
Coco stated that “This is the first time St. Hedwig participated in 40 days for life and we were not sure what response we would get. We are pleased that we got these numbers of people who turned up. We are hoping to grow this number in future prolife events”.
More reports from recent days coming soon! THANK YOU ALL for your hard work and for making this possible!
DAY 21, March 17th
WE SAVED TWO BABIES TODAY!
(9 babies saved so far in OrangeCounty, that we know about)
Wow! Prayer works and God is Awesome!
We were at the Newport Beach facility in prayer, and it wasn't easy because during the week we do not see a lot of clients entering the parking lot, mainly they go to the pharmacy or other nearby businesses. So it is easy to wonder if someone would actually be saved because we are praying outside on the street.
Jen, Gwen, me and our kids were there when Jeannette (20 years old) entered the parking lot. She stopped in the middle of the parking lot for about a minute and then proceeded to park. I then knew that she was going towards the abortion facility. We kept praying and on her way out I asked her to stop and told her I wanted to help her, I gave her flyers with information regarding her options and asked if we could talk.
She was in tears and said she needed to talk, so she parked her car and came to us.
After talking to her she said that she was 12 weeks pregnant and that she just scheduled an appointment for next week to have the abortion but she was asking God for a sign so that she wouldn’t do it.
"You being here was the sign that God gave me that I shouldn’t do it, THANK you so much, THANK you for stopping me. " she said.
She said she didn’t know if she would parent her baby or place her for adoption (she has a 2 year old child and this second pregnancy was overwhelming her) but she chose LIFE for her baby!
She said she will definitely come back and pray at the vigil with us and we'll follow up with her during her pregnancy.
The picture shows prayer volunteers Jen, Gwen with her kids Madison, Mikayla and Grace and Jeannette at the right. THANK YOU JESUS!
Joan Okada reported of another baby saved at the Planned Parenthood location today!
Bev and other volunteers went this morning to pray and women were entering the facility.
Later on a man named James had dropped off his 17 yr. old daughter heard a girl came out crying "I can't go thru with this and called for someone to pick her up". She left the facility!
Joan said James had a change of heart as he ended praying that his daughter wouldn’t go through the abortion.
We pray for James and his daughter and Praise God for saving another baby!
Also todayBev reported that the doctor was driving into the facility and was very angry at the prayer volunteers, he yelled them to take a sign off theirproperty and so they did.
Of course the Doctor was angry, we are having an impact on the people entering the facility! and so on them!

WE SAVED ANOTHER BABY!
(6 babies saved so far in Orange County, that we know about)
Laura Torres, Pat Detterich, Kathy Howard, Jean MacKay, Meckie Grothues and Peggy McGlenn reported that this morning another life was saved in OrangeCounty! AMAZING! It happenned outside Planned Parenthood in Tustin.
Laura said that a woman and her daughter (about 18-19 years old) drove into PP facility. They didn't open the window to take the brochures that the prayer team wanted to give them, but the volunteers kept praying.
Later on, they saw the car leaving the facility, and the woman was in tears. Laura offered help thinking that the woman just came out from having an abortion, but her daughter repplied that her mom "could not go through it". The mom was crying as she decided to keep her baby! The prayer team offered refferrals of places to go to where she could get further help.
THANK YOU JESUS for saving another baby!
Earlier in the week, Joan Okada reported that she and other prayer volunteers met a young woman who was on Birth Control pills. They had the opportunity to talk to her and explain to her about the effects of the pill and how many of them are also abortive.
Thank you to all the volunteers that have helped cover the vigil at the Newport Beach facility. A special Thank you to Reese Peter from Our Lady of Mount Carmel for his leadership in getting volunteers to cover some slots

WE SAVED ANOTHER BABY!
(5 babies saved so far in Orange County, that we know about)
Joan Okada reported that a lady went into the abortion clinic and came out a couple of times and the second time she waved to her and she waved back.
When they were leaving, Tim - a prayer volunteer- talked to the driver as the lady was on the other side. She rolled her window down and Joan gave her more information and said they would give her all kinds of help.
The lady took the information and was crying with happy tears. Tim said she changed her mind.
Bev and other volunteers were praung this morning when women were entering the facility.
Later Joan said that a man named James came to her after dropping off his 17 yr. old daughter and he said that he heard a girl come out crying "I can't go thru with this and called for someone to pick her up".
Joan offered her the flyers with information and although she didnt take them, she was leaving the facility!
Joan prayed next to James for his daughter that was still inside and she saw a change in James heart as he was praying she would be so uncomfortable that they couldn't do it on her. He went from driving his daughter to Planned Parenthood to praying God that she would leave.
We pray for James and his daughter and we Praise God for saving the young girl from having an abortion.
Also earlier when Bev and Bob were there the doctor came to the drive and yelled for us to take a sign off their property and we did. So they say they have a hard time doing abortions when people are out there praying. So thank You Jesus for all You are doing. Amen!!
DAY 19

DAY 4, FEB 28TH:
WE SAVED ANOTHER BABY!!
(3 babies saved so far in Orange County, that we know about)
The weekend didnt go without saving another baby's life!
Volunteers from St. Mary by the Sea and myself were at the Newport Beach location around 11:00am when a van entered the facility and we offered the flyer "Before you choose" for them to consider. The guy told me that he was picking up his girlfriend, (so he must have dropped her when a group from St. Killian was praying earlier that morning). I told him that I hoped he could get on time to his girlfriend to covince her that she has other real choices and get her out. I asked him to read the flyer.
About 25 minutes passed and as they were leaving he stopped and gave me two thumbs up saying: "she didnt do it! Thank you".
At the picture, an 85 year old lady from St. Mary by the Sea and another prayer volunteer that were at the vigil that morning. (Thank you for joining us!). -see more pictures in the album.
Earlier that morning the Manager of the facility called the police reporting that a prayer volunteer was trespassing their property. (The rest of the prayer group was standing on Birch Street sidewalk). He aknowledged that we had the right to express our point of view but said that we should do that on the public sidewalk. As far as we knew the prayer volunteer was standing in the allowed area (in front of the FPA entrance but behind the drainage line of the parking lot). We had a conversation with the police and the Manager, and according to that officer we can only stand on Birch Street, without entering the parking lot. The group of St. Killian said that they were going to investigate further and get a letter that clarifies the situation. Until then, please keep the vigil on Birch Street.
DAY 3, FEB 27TH:
Volunteers from Immaculate heart of Mary and other Churches arrived to pray outside the Planned Parenthood facility.
Gloria reported that she saw so many woman entering the facility, mainly hispanic. She didnt know how big the abortion industry is, until that moment "it is until you go there and see how many people enter that you see reality... I saw a woman on her 30's leaving the facility deeply sad, she could barely walk.. you could see the pain in all her body".
At the Newport Beach facility we had volunteers from St. Edward the Confessor and the little ones also gave a beautiful testimony of life just being there!. (see Picture in album)
A special thanks to Kennie Arriola and his family and to Toni Tarrant and Steve Baker who covered the vigil on their own from 5:00 - 7:00pm.
DAY 2, FEB 26TH:
At the Newport Beach location we had the constant arrival of volunteers from St, Vincent de Paul and some walk-ins!
We also had the visit from Bishop Frank Drzymkowski, from the Church of the Good Shepherd, who led the groupd in prayer. Thank you Bishop! (see picture in album)
At the Planned Parenthood Facility we had volunteers from San Antonio de Padua.
THANK YOU all who participated!
DAY 1, FEB 25th:
WE SAVED TWO BABIES!!
It was 7:30 am. Gloria Gonzalez (St. Callistus) volunteered to open today's vigil at the Planned Parenthood facility. She didnt care that this was going to be the first time that she would pray in front of an abortion clinic.
She didnt care either that it was going to be only her and her daughter at this time in the morning.
She got the banner and material to distribute to abortion vulnerable parents. It was only her and her daughter at 7:30 am, praying and showing the "40 Days for Life" Banner.
Minutes after they arrived a man was already leaving the Planned Parenthood facility, and he asked them what were they there for. She said "We are Pro Life and we dont accept abortion. We are praying to end abortion". The man went into tears and said that his wife was inside the clinic but that he didnt want her to have the abortion. Gloria showed him the rosary she was holding and told him "God doesnt want that... Go and get your wife, you have all the right to do so".
The man left his car and a baby that was in it (about 6 months) and asked Gloria to take care of his baby while he went to talk with his wife.
Two hours later the man came in tears and said "I got her out! THANK YOU!" By then more volunteers had joined the vigil and were celebrating!
The picture shows the father of the baby (at the right) with the prayer volunteers celebrating! (his wife was getting into the car when he came back to thank them.

PRAISE THE LORD!
Minutes later, as Gloria was waving goodbye to the prayer group, she saw Aracely and other volunteers talking to another woman that was leaving the clinic. This woman entered Planned Parenthood facility and when she left she stopped at the prayer team and thanked them for their prayers, she said "I didnt do it! THANK YOU!!!)
At the Newport Beach facility the prayer vigil during the morning was very well attended, from groups of 4 to 15 people!. Anita Hoetcker, from St. Killian, reports:
"What a wonderful day! I thought the afternoon was going to be weakly attended...maybe two of us at best. People and families dropped in! It was the Holy Spirit! We were 3, 4, and 6 most of the time!
In particular, at about 5:45 pm...a cold wind for CA...the sun was down...a young man approached and asked if he could join us. He readily took a pro-life sign and stood with the 3 of us ladies. We were praying the rosary. We invited him to lead and he said that he didn't know it...I figured he was a convert because I had done the parish sign-ups for Feb. 25th and thought he was from St. Kilian Church. After we finished praying the rosary, we introduced ourselves and his name was Jose. We were witnessing and praying in front of the Newport Beach abortion mill. His Church is New Beginnings Assembly of God in Norco! His Church had a 40 Days rally on Tuesday night and since he lives close to the Newport Beach site, he came to pray with us! It was the Holy Spirit sending us a man...an angel...to pray with us in the evening darkness.
We were able to pray the 40 Days' intention sheet together with the help of the business strip lighting and sign songs of praise together. Jose and his wife are expecting their first child in fall. I am so grateful for our common focus on God, prayer and saving those babies!!!"
WHAT A GREAT BEGINNING!!!
Thank you Peggy, Anita, Gloria, Meckie, Joan and Eloisa for coordinating! and all who attended the Vigils!!!
