HOME: Welcome to 40 Days for Life Reno Tahoe
This Fall, from September 23 - November 1, our community participated as one of many from across the United States and beyond joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign. In the past 40 days, 514 babies have been saved nationwide and 1 in Reno, confirmed by the mothers' expressed change of intention not to abort but to have her baby. But this is the tip of the iceberg, as clinics across the country are reducing their hours of operation and some are closing down, due to lack of clientele. Prayer, education, and compassion are the key. 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of: The campaign has just begun, and already a child's life has been saved and a mother has been saved from heartbreak! We are praying that, with God's help and your participation, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout America. As we made our humble effort locally, we were joined in a national campaign to Pray to End Abortion. This campaign has demonstrated incredible success around the nation, and modest successes locally. Here in the Reno/Tahoe region, we have 6 known saves, lives that would have been lost otherwise. Three of these saves were during the Spring '09 campaign, and one the week immediately afterwards. For us, all the effort that went into holding a campaign would have been worth it just to know a single life was spared, that one woman will not spend the remainder of her life in regret for making this decision. But in addition to the lives that have been spared, we have seen a marked growth in the number of people committed to speaking out against abortion, to publicly declaring their pro-life stance.
