What is the Renton 40 Days for Life Campaign?
We are an inter-faith group of Christians who are a part of the 40 Days for Life organization. 40 Days for Life has accomplished wonderful results across the world by their peaceful prayer to end abortion. Our goal is to have at least two prayer warriors present at the Renton Cedar River Clinic from 7:00AM until 7:00PM, Monday-Saturday, over 40 days, February 14 - March 24, 2024.
Many of us have peacefully prayed in previous years at the Kent Planned Parenthood. That clinic has closed, praise God. Following that closure, we now direct our efforts to the Renton Cedar River Clinic: 601 SE Carr Rd, Renton, WA.
Why pray outside Cedar River Clinic?
We want to be visibly present, not just spiritually present, so that when mothers in crisis, or clients in the nearby medical buildings just want to talk, we are there to offer life affirming views and choices. We will have hand outs, especially useful if you are uncomfortable directly speaking with anyone. You can say "I'm just here to pray, but here is more information" and give them a handout.
What to do while you are there?
- Keep the unborn, their mothers and fathers, and the clinic workers in your prayers.
- Sing.
- Read Scripture.
- Bring loving signs. (Ask us if you need or want one.)
Please DO NOT:
- Bring graphic, rude, condemning signs (Graphic images have their place, but it's not here.)
- Yell at clients or anyone else.
- Name-call or in any way give the vigil a bad image.
Where to park?
Parking is available on Smithers Ave S just left of the Clinic building parking entrance. There is also parking available in the parking lot of the Rainier Valley complex near the back entrance of the Clinic building. If you park near the back entance, proceed using the sidewalk on Carr Rd to the main entrance on Smithers where we stand. You can also stand on Carr near the back entrance, or on the corner of Carr/Smithers near the front entrance.

On the right side of this webpage, under 'Resources', click on the download icon to the right of 'How to Sign Up' for step by step instructions to create an account and to sign up for vigil hours. If you already have an account, simply click the blue button "Sign up for vigil hours". Select the day you can come, make a login with your name and email/phone number and then click the hour you can pray. You will also need to sign the statement of Peace.
