Since the opening in 1985 of the Northern Illinois Woman's Center (Rockford's abortion mill) an estimated 50,000 of God's children have been brutally killed at this location in the heart of Rockford. This is a sickening fact that staggers the mind and breaks the heart of any person of compassion and love for God and neighbor.
Since 1985 many good Christian men and women have prayed, worked, and sacrificed to help mothers in need, educated our city to the evil of abortion, and witness to the love of Christ for all human beings. Many children have been saved from death and many parents have been helped. But sadly the killing continues on a weekly basis. And sadly the majority of the residents of our city turn a blind eye to the killing of these babies that takes place at Rockford's abortion mill.
It is time we as Christians make a public, sustained, sacrificial, and faith-filled effort to implore God's help to end the killing of children in Rockford. This effort will involve a unified public witnesses for life and love, where we as Christians come out of the comfort of our homes and churches to stand with our preborn brothers and sisters facing death at what can rightfully be described as a death camp in the heart of Rockford. It won't be easy, but the lives of children and our Christian faith demand that we unite as a Christian community and share the plight of so many of God's children who have been unjustly murdered and to offer help to the children facing death in the coming weeks and months.
