Welcome to the Sacramento
40 Days for Life website!
Join us in Prayer and Fasting....

...for the conversion of hearts and minds, for an end to abortion, and generous hearts to do whatever God asks of us...

Vigil Hours
The Sacramento area Fall 2009 40 Days for Life vigil hours are 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.  The final day is October 31st.  On Thursday evenings we hold overnight Gethsemane vigils (see information below) at the Presentation Parish in Sacramento.

Why did we go to one site?

This Fall '09 Vigil we will mainly focus on one vigil site, 2322 Butano Drive, Sacramento, because the National 40 Days has asked us to maintain a minimum of 12 hours strong presence daily at one site.

The first vigil we had many people come and pray but in Lent '09 there were far fewer people....therefore we wish to concentrate our efforts at one site.

You can help save lives!

Will you come to 2322 Butano Drive in Sacramento to pray and fast for a mother to have a change of heart and choose life?  There is no greater joy than saving a life.  We can't do it without you.  We need your prayers and fasting!

Vigil Hours

Our vigil hours are 6:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. Monday through Saturday at Butano.

We believe women deserve to know the truth so that they can make a truly informed decision that can be both life-ending and life-changing.

Therefore, we offer women basic biological facts on fetal development such as the baby's heart begins beating by 21 days and by the time most abortions take place, the baby's arms, legs, ears, eyes, fingers, etc are already formed. "It" is very definitely a human life, just very small in size.

Secondly, we truly care about women and believe women facing an unplanned pregnancy deserve better than abortion. We are there to provide them with
loving assistance so that they are better able to choose Life for their unborn child. Whatever they need, we will do everything we can to help provide... a place to stay, assistance with job search, transportation, childcare, counseling, etc. Many resources already exist in our community, but most people going in for abortion are unaware of all the assistance that is available.

We also offer women resources for
post-abortion counseling, loving them on the way into the clinic and also on the way out. Few women actually desire an abortion, but feelings of fear, desperation, and hopelessness can make a woman feel that ending the life of her unborn child is her only option. We are there to compassionately provide her with BETTER choices, better alternatives, so that hope and love replace despair and desperation. There is no judgment, nor condemnation in this ministry, but only empathy and compassion. Many women are now speaking up about their abortion and the life-long regrets they have experienced, through organizations such as Silent No More and Rachel's Vineyard Ministry.

Won't you join us for this important prayerful, peaceful and loving ministry to women? Please contact (916)
712-3706 for more information and see our "Get Involved" page.

Take a stand for life
While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to bring Christ to those in need of Him and to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion facilities. You can help make a life-saving impact by praying with us at 2322 Butano Drive in Sacramento so that we may truly pray for and serve those in need of Christ.  See a list of abortion centers in the Sacramento area
