Lisa Alderink with 5 of her 7 children

  Supporting Life
            is a
     Family affair

This picture was taken on a cold rainy blustery day during the Fall 2012 campaign at the planned parenthood in St Cloud.  Pictured are Lisa Alderink with 5 of her 7 children.  Lisa has muscular dystrophy and has been confined to this wheelchair for 6 years and yet she has the courage,  faith and stamina to come with her children to "DO VIGIL" for the unborn.  She and her family very much inspired the regular participants on this cold November morning.  What you don't see in  this picture was that Lisa and her family came in their suburban which pulled a specially designed trailer (her husband Brent made it)  which contained her motorized wheelchair.  When they got to the St Augustine's parking lot, Alex, her oldest son, got out and proceeded to unlock, open the trailer and undo the straps, etc that held her wheelchair (at least a 5 minute job in the cold, using tools which needed ungloved hands).   He then  brought the wheelchair to her car door and helped her into it.    Then they all  proceeded to the vigil site with Lisa at the Wheelchair controls, one daughter riding on the back of the wheelchair holding the umbrella over her, one daughter sitting on her lap and a third sitting at her feet.  Lisa came in this manner with her family twice in the fall campaign. She has also done vigil at the mega planned parenthood in the Twin Cities.  Lisa and her husband Brent and 7 children, Alex, Joseph, Matthew, Elizabeth, Emma, Anna and Angela are members of the Church Of Our Lady of Manannah, MN where Msgr Francis Garvey is the pastor.
