SEPTEMBER 2009 Journal

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 -- DAY 8
From Ellen M:
10 cars were here this morning and the regular doctor came in a different car today (gray).  He got there about 8:00 am left 10:00 am.  Two girls came out that were really slow and could hardly walk. A group of three young ones; one was slow in walking, but the other two were needing help.  The Medical "Waste" truck came with the red containers and red plastic bags -- (in which they dispose of the little baby bodies).  We all prayed.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 -- DAY 7
From Ellen M:  It looked like only a office worker there. I was by myself this morning.
The dentist and nails were busy
.

Monday, September 28, 2009 -- DAY 6 - SAVE
From Sue K:
On the
afternoon of 9/28 Tim V and George O were at the abortion clinic.  A 22 year old woman, who said that she was eight months pregnant, and also the mother of a toddler, is to be evicted in less than a week. She was inquiring about a late-term abortion.  The abortion clinic has been calling her, reminding her that the cost of the abortion was increasing every day, and she should make up her mind! Tim and George were in the right place at the right time. Because of their praying AND speaking the truth about the effects of abortion, they brought this young woman to consider the importance of her decision. Tim took her over to CompassionPregnancyCenter. She said that she would call Tim today with a decision. She kept her promise, called, and told Tim that she chooses LIFE for her baby.  (AMEN!) Tim and George are very humble about this SAVE. Praise God. The Faithful Prayer Warriors here, and all over the U.S., interceded for this mother and baby. This is the Feast of the angels, Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. We prayed that they would hold mothers back from entering the clinic. Light has overcome darkness. Good has overcome evil. Let us pray and witness all the more! The Lord is kind and merciful.

UPDATE 9/30:  Hot food, canned goods, towels, salvation army gift certificates, and some cash for laundry soap, milk, etc. was taken over to our "mom" -- thank you for all of your prayers for this situation.

UPDATE 10/2More items were brought to this young mother (shoes, bedding, food, clothing, etc.) and she was so appreciative.  Along with these items, donated money was given to her for the renting of a new place.  Later that evening, she called to say that her  new "renter" person took the money but later called and decided that there was no room for her and that the live-in boyfriend of the renter didn't want our "mom" to be around.  Our "mom" was devastated but she was calmed down.  Other avenues are being pursed for her and God is opening doors.  Divine Mercy Center has been contacted and is helping.  Thank you to all of you for your prayers.

From Jenny P
As I prayed at the abortion clinic, two teen guys asked me, "what about when a crazy guy rapes a woman, do you believe in abortion then?"  I said, "No, there is never a reason to kill a baby.  We pray for both the the rapist &
the woman...for Our Lord to heal both.  What did the baby do wrong that he or she should be killed?  We give the woman all prayers and support possible for her to give birth to the baby and offer adoption for her baby.  Killing the baby does not fix anything.  God is the only one who can fix everything, so that is why we pray always to Him for His help."  I could see they understood what I was saying and suspect that they had never thought about abortion killing babies in that way.  One even folded his hands in prayer as they walked on.  Two nice guys!!!  (And this was in the rainy storm last night, so I was amazed that they took the time to talk.  God treats me with these blessings all the time!!)

Saturday, September 26, 2009 -- DAY 4
From Jill H:  Thank you Lord for all the faithful who came out to pray for life on Saturday, September 26. Thank You, God, Our Father, for the courageous witness of your daughter, Karen, who humbly held up her sign that said, "I regret my abortion." Please protect her with the mantle of your Mother's love and all the angels of heaven. Give her your strength Jesus to inspire others to take this beautiful step in their lives and open the hearts of our religious leaders so that they will embrace her message and share it with your people. Thank You for blessing our lives with Karen's testimony to Your truth that abortion hurts women and it hurts entire societies. Praise you, Jesus, for bringing us all to Your truth and creating in us the love and desire to be your instruments of Divine Love.

Friday, September 25, 2009 -- DAY 3
From Daryl
The evil one was at it again this morning. Sue, Tom, and I were out there at 7 a.m. and a car pulled up to the clinic at 7.50 a.m. with a young man who had a few words for the three of us. Also, a man and three young women were going into the clinic at that time. I'm starting to think satan does not like us there at the clinic.

Thursday, September 24, 2009 -- DAY 2
From Daryl:
A few of us prayer warriors were at the clinic this morning (7am-9 am). As we walked the sidewalk, the barber came out at 8.15 am and told us to stay on our side of the sidewalk, we did. (From Maribeth:  Amazing how our peaceful praying is affecting so many...again...I say this is a GOOD thing...we are making people think about life and prayer!)

From Jenny:  At the clinic this evening, I set up my TV table with the crystal cross on it with three lights flickering around it for the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, sprinkled the ground all around us and we blessed ourselves with holy water.  I put up the signs facing traffic each way.  We started out with prayer for the women who come to this clinic, then we said the Prayer for the Helpless Unborn, then the rosary for life, meditating on the luminous mysteries. Most folks who went by us nodded, said "hello" "how are you"... we got happy toots... no negative stuff tonight. Thank You, Jesus!!!  Norma joined us in finishing the rosary.  That was so nice of her... she was babysitting but was able to make it in time to pray with Mary and I.  Our dearest Lord sent me two prayer warriors tonight...and I thought I was going to be alone... He is sooo good to us prayer warriors!!

When we were talking by my car while I was packing up, a policeman drove by to see how things went for us tonight.  We told him that it was all positive.  He was truly happy for us!!!  So great that the police are watching out for us.  WE MUST ALL REMEMBER TO HOLD THEM UP IN PRAYER... THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD & EVIL.  Dearest Lord, Bless the police who watch over us proud prayer warriors of Yours as we peacefully pray in witness for life!!! Amen.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009 -- DAY 1
From Maribeth:  (6:00 p.m.)
For our 6:00 p.m. group Vigil gathering we had more pleasant weather (thank You God!).  We prayed the way of the Cross and included pro-life prayers after each station.  As we remembered the journey our Lord willingly took for our salvation, we inwardly thanked Him for giving us the courage to take the stand outside of this killing center.  We lifted up the babies, the moms/dads, the doctors/medical staff, the public, our police force, our national, and our world -- that we would have a greater respect for life.

We know we made a difference this evening because, as our prayer vigil came to a close, we were visited by a police officer who said they received a complaint from a motorist saying that "we kept hitting his car with our signs."   Well, the police officer said he knew this wasn't true when he saw our group, but he needed to come out when an official complaint is made.  He was so kind to us.  God, we ask that you continue to bless our law enforcement with Your truth, protection and wisdom.  This incident tells me that satan is not a happy camper and will resort to any means to get us discouraged.  To that I say...NEVER!  God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are our strength and stronghold...nothing can come up against the Trinity!

From Sue K:  (12:00 a.m.)  Just prior to midnight (before our official beginning) a Sterling Heights Police Officer stopped and inquired about our presence. He was pleased that we have such peaceful rules. He will be working the night shift so he will be regularly cruising by. Nine prayer warriors gathered for a very solemn vigil. We sang hymns of peace, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy and prayed and reflected on some of the 40 Days Devotionals. We prayed for God’s blessing on the eleven Michigan 40 Days Campaigns, and those across the country.

From Maribeth:
We gathered early in the morning (12:00 a.m.) to begin our 40 Days journey.  The weather was perfect for singing praises to our Lord and lifting up our heartfelt prayers for the unborn babies and LIFE.  Surprisingly, there were quite a few cars driving past us for this time of day --
they saw our dedication and read our signs.  What a blessing it was to be surrounded by fellow prayer warriors whose hearts are filled with passion for life and our Savior, Jesus Christ.  (Some of us stayed until 2:00 a.m. -- it was so good to be there!)

UNOFFICIAL campaign entries leading up to our beginning:

From Maribeth:  (9/12/09)  It is with a heavy heart that I share this news.  The clinic was open for abortions this past Saturday.  Wasn't it just last week I was so thankful for having "no abortion Saturdays."  How quickly things change.  It has been about a year or so since they have been opened for killing on this day.  As I was pulling into the lot around 8:15 a.m. I saw many cars and people standing around outside.  I just thought it was the Dentist's office -- many times they wait for someone to arrive with the keys to let them in.  When I got closer, I saw the blinds opened and young women sitting in the upstairs office.  My heart sank.  There were a few girls outside smoking...one man in his car smoking up a storm and drinking many coffees.  A young couple came out and seemed to be arguing...then they made up and she went back in while the man waited in the car.  Then there was the heart-wrenching sight of watching a mother and daughter arrive at the clinic.  I thanked God when Margaret and Marie arrived.  The tears were just too much on my own.  I failed at bringing the good news and the truth...my voice was silent to the people on the other side of the parking lot.  I told myself it was because I was in shock that they were opened for killing...and then the Holy Spirit reminded me who my audience was for this clinic -- the public.  And they saw us praying and our signs.  I pray these men/women never find themselves in this situation again.  Thank You God for the opportunity to pray for those babies and lost souls who are choosing death.

From Ellen M:  On 8/21/09 there were 16 cars. No Hodari -- a different abortion doctor. Drove a white coupe with a black top; he was elderly and tall. He came at 9:45 a.m. Lately, for over a month, the abortion doctors would arrive much later -- after 11:00 a.m. One lady stopped by and said she sees me there all the time and wanted to thank me. She had tears in her eyes and they ran like a stream down her cheek. First time I witnessed a lady with such compassion. She was on her way to work (Pontiac). She suggested that I leave the stroller empty to let people know there was no baby. I gave her a pin and told her we are having 40 Days for Life beginning September 23 to Nov 1, 2009. A man  stopped by and wanted to know what I was doing. I explained to him how the Prayer Warriors work. He was on his way to his mothers to give her fresh veggies. He is from Auburn Heights.  He mentioned the poor people and people who did not want a child, and the hardship that goes with raising one. I told him of my friend Ann. She and her family raised Theresa from birth till she passed away at age 53. She could not speak or walk and had to be fed and carried. They never considered her hardship but true devotion and love. We talked some more. I mentioned that the women can get help and there are many churches and organizations willing to help out; also, adoption is good. He wanted to know how I felt about women being on welfare. I said a baby is life and I would support that cause. People are all mixed up watching and reading the wrong things. With the right help they become good citizens. He agreed. I gave him a pin and a rosary disc.

From Carol B/Cindy G:  (9/3/09)  This past week we were praying at the clinic and a police officer from Sterling Heights stopped by.  We were surprised by his visit...thinking maybe someone called him to the site.  What a pleasant encounter we had when he thanked us for being there and then also asked if we would pray for him and the whole police staff.  The officer said they are getting such a "bad wrap" from the media when all the police force is trying to do is their job and keep law and order in the community.  He also said the media hasn't been reporting all the correct details lately and the rest of the officers are pretty discouraged.  We told him we would keep him and the force in our prayers and thanked him for stopping by.  He told us that he knew "he was saved by the blood of Jesus" and prays that his colleagues would arrive to that point soon.  What a blessing to have such a Christian witness in our Sterling Police force.

From Cindy G:  (9/1/09)  I was praying the Rosary by myself at the clinic a couple of Fridays ago.  There were several women inside and Dr. Hodari was there.   After about 20 minutes, Dr. Hodari got into his car and drove by me, telling me in a stern voice "Stop it.  Stop it.  Just stop it and go."   I was very surprised because he has never said anything to us before.  I contemplated leaving...but then realized that was Satan trying to instill fear in me.  I continued praying and let my thoughts rest with Jesus.  After another 20 minutes Dr. Hodari and another woman came zooming back into the parking lot...he was on the phone.  They pulled into the handicapped spot and he continued his phone conversation.  He never got out of the car.  After a bit they pulled away abruptly -- with him staring at me.  I'm so glad I didn't budge...the Dr. saw my determination.  Thank You Jesus for being right there with me.
