The 40 days for life team would like to remind everyone that this is meant to be a PEACEFUL, PRAYERFUL WITNESS, UNITED IN CHRISTIAN LOVE. So with that in mind, please keep to the CODE OF CONDUCT:
Please use only the signs provided to you by the 40 Days for Life team found in the black bag on the ground. Members of Silent No More may hold their powerful “I Regret My Abortion” signs. Only women who have had abortions may hold that sign.
Be Safe! We prefer for you to stand on the grass between the sidewalk and street if possible. You can walk up and down the sidewalk, but do not stand in the street, obstruct the entrance to the clinic, or block people walking on the sidewalk. Please find a safe and legal place to park and double up if possible. If you bring children, be sure to keep them close to you and encourage them to pray or play quietly & safely. Strollers are welcome.
Be lawful. 40 days for Life was designed to work within the law. This is not meant to be a "protest," but rather a prayerful witness. It is not the place for civil disobedience, or violence.
Please greet other prayer witnesses and welcome them, but avoid any frivolity, idle chatter, and interaction with motorists. Only small children should eat during the vigil.
Do not bring any political activity into this campaign. While much needs be done to change the anti-life laws in this country, this is meant to be a campaign to change hearts.
Any misconduct from passersby should be met with silence, which will convey your inner peace. Please show love and compassion toward abortion facility workers, volunteers and customers.
Please do not speak or call out to the women going in. Pray quietly for them and only offer help if they come to you. We have provided fliers from Thrive, a local crisis pregnancy center.
Kneeling or standing is preferred; however, if you are elderly, on vigil for a long stretch, nursing, or simply need to sit down, you are welcome to bring a chair.
