Why 40 Days

Vision and mission

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion in Victoria.

            But why 40 Days ?

For this we turn to the 40 Days of transformations in the Bible

  • Noah was Transformed after 40 days in the Ark
  • Moses was Transformed after 40 days atop Mount Sinai
  • David was Transformed after Goliath's 40 day challenge
  • Elijah was Transformed after God gave him 40 days of Strength from one meal
  • Nineveh was Transformed after 40 days of Faithfullness
  • Jesus Transformed the World after 40 days of Prayer and Fasting in the desert
  • The Disciples were Transformed after spending 40 days with Jesus after his Resurrection

Jeremiah 29 :11-14
"For i know well the plans i have in mind for you,says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not your woe! plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with your whole heart, you will find me with you says the Lord, and I will change your lot;"

What an awesome promise from God

2Chronicles 7:14
