End of Campaign, but We Keep Going...
While our 2010 Fall 40 Days for Life Campaign has ended, abortion has not and neither has the work of our God. If you know that it is right for you to stand for the protection of the unborn, there's still an opportunity. The Whittier Planned Parenthood still performs surgical abortions on Tuesdays, and we would still like to maintain a presence of hope for the troubled throughout the year. If you are nervous about going out alone, contact us and we can arrange for someone else to join you!
The Spring 2011 campaign will begin on March 9th at midnight. If you would like to be involved with this, fill in your name and email address above, and we will be sending out an email as the time approaches.
Save Number Three!
Last Tuesday, October 26, we had the privilege of witnessing a save. A young couple had come in for an abortion appointment, but before they got to the door, they turned aside to see what Len was offering them from the sidewalk. Len gave the woman a Focus on the Family "The First Nine Months" booklet with his own sheet of pregnancy resource centers, as well as one of the Whittier Pregnancy Care Clinic "Pregnancy Options" brochures. He talked with the young woman for five to ten minutes, with her boyfriend (or possibly husband, we don't know) standing behind her, seeming to be supporting of her whatever her decision was. Theresa, a local post-abortive homeless woman, walked up, and also wanted to talk with her, so we let her, and she told her all of her misfortunes of being involved in alcohol, drugs, and an abusive relationship, attributing all of what had happened to her to the ongoing pain of her abortions years ago, encouraging her to make the right choice. After crying a bit, it was evident she was truly deciding against abortion, and she agreed that she had a support system to help them bear and raise the child. They walked back across the parking lot and drove away, and waved to us on the way out, as we were praising God for His work in them.
It is for this reason that we are there praying and calling out to people-- to keep them from the guilt and pain of abortion, as our Lord guides us.
Upcoming Events
We will have a time of final prayer on Sunday night, and our Victory Celebration on Monday evening. See the links to the right to find out more-- we will be blessed by the presence of many of God's people.
40 Days for Life Midpoint Rally
Friday, October 15th, we had a time of sharing and praising God for the work he has done so far through 40 Days for Life, and encouraging each other in Christ to continue the work he has for us to do. We brought stories of personal transformation, opportunities to share with others, and prayers for the rest of the campaign.

News: God has heard our prayers
Our first 40 Days for Life "save"! Even though the vigil had not officially started, God had already responded to our faithfulness to pray. A woman offered to help with the 40 Days For Life community outreach and found out shortly after that her son's girlfriend was pregnant, and the couple was discussing abortion. Fortunately, the woman had just toured the pro-life Whittier Pregnancy Care Clinic and called us to see if we could see her son and his girlfriend. One of the girl's parents was pressuring for abortion and it looked like the girl might give in. Praise God, they went to Whittier Pregnancy Care Clinic, had an ultrasound, and chose life for their baby!
