Because 50 million children have been killed since 1973 in the United States of America.
Because 50 million situations of unspeakable violence are treated as if they are insignificant.
Because it is time for this to end.
We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout America.
    The peaceful prayer vigil
outside the place where children are killed is the most visible component of the 40 Days for Life campaign.

Our previous campaigns of prayer and fasting touched many individual lives, and brought awareness and hope to a neighborhood that feels powerless in the face of the evil which is occurring in its midst.

You can help make a life-saving and life-changing impact by joining us this spring as we bring our prayerful peaceful presence to

Women's Choice Medical Center at 10 Zabriskie Street
Vigil Hours: 8AM-4PM Seven Days a week
March 9-April 17, 2011

What is going on behind the doors of every abortion facility across the nation destroys human lives - the children's lives and their parents' lives.  If all we can do is be there as a physical presence and a visible sign that we are on the side of life, then let us be there.

Remember:

We are called to pray for the change of hearts and minds of our lost brothers and sisters and for the defenseless unborn. PRAY hard and let the power of the HOLY SPIRIT through the intercession of our Mother Mary do the miracle!

"Would you not watch one hour with me?"

2010 Fall 40 Days for Life

Around 8:00 am, Cynthia and I arrived at the abortion clinic last Saturday, February 27. Nobody was outside doing the vigil. Very unusual since in the past, there’s always someone there already praying, especially those regular people who were assigned to sponsor the event. It was difficult finding a parking space since there were still tons of snow on the side street from the storm the day before. I stopped in front of the building and decided to drop Cynthia off and went my way to park the car. I was able to find a space several streets away from the clinic and then started walking back towards Cyn. When I arrived, Cyn was already saying the rosary. I asked her to start all over so we can do it together and aloud.

Several minutes later, a couple arrived park their car in the lot and walked towards the door of the clinic. The man opened the door and that’s when I saw the inside of the clinic. It was already full of people, in fact some were already standing (Cyn later explained to me that the clinic was probably closed during the snow storm which explained why). The couple had to come out with a clip board and started writing probably because there’s no room inside. Then, they both went in again. At least 6 more couples went in as we continue with our prayer vigil.

After almost an hour, I was still wondering how come there’s no other people arriving to join us. Honestly, I was getting frustrated and felt alone. This is when I remember what Getty Escobia tells me, especially when barely no one shows up for the CLS, “…leave it ALL in God’s hands and everything will be alright!”. He will continue by saying…”It is NOT us who will decide, we are just instruments”. It was Mama Mary who was reminding me and reassuring me ”Everything will be alright!”. In my prayers, I asked God, give me a sign that this is all worth it! That this is really what He wants us to do as His servant and as His instruments.

Then, a blue SUV drove in the parking lot of the clinic. A middle aged female came out of the passenger’s side of the car and started walking towards the door. She glanced at us, opened the door, and went it in. After a few minutes, she came out, made a call on her cell phone and just waited there. Every so often, she would look at us and then put her head down and started phasing back and forth. A few minutes later, a man walked towards her and they both started walking towards the clinic door. The man was about to open the door when the woman started talking to him. They seemed to be having a discussion. Cynthia and I were praying so intensely and at the same time I want to hear what they were saying to one another. We were on the other side of the street so it was difficult to hear them. The only thing that I thought he said to her was…”Are you sure?”. Then, the woman nodded. They both started walking away from the clinic towards their car. The woman looked at us the very last time then they were gone. At this time, I looked at Cyn, and tears were running down her cheeks so as mine! It was an awesome feeling! We saw it in our own eyes how God really works… in His time and in His way! This was my sign!

We were just instruments. Maybe it was our mere presence, the sight of two people with rosaries in our hands that made this couple stepped back and rethink about having an abortion. One thing is for sure, this couple had shown me that what we are doing to protect life and the unborn is truly His work! They were also just instruments. For God to show me why this is ALL worth it! That it definitely works, in His time and in His way!

Rey Escalon came and joined us while Cyn and I were still crying. We explained to him what just happened and why it is important that we should encourage others to do join us in this work. Two ladies also joined us who we later found out were praying in their car parked at the end of the street. They said they were there at 8:00 AM and decided to pray in the car since they did not see anyone outside the clinic. I am certain that their prayers significantly contributed to the miracle that Cyn and I witnessed. Their presence is another reassurance for me that “everything will be alright!”.

Later that day, we came back to the clinic with our daughter Kathrynna, and were pretty amazed that all throughout the day there was a consistent presence of our CFC members doing the vigil and praying. A father from Budd Lake even brought his three sons and who all participated in saying the rosary, along with Kathrynna. The whole day was really an eye opener for me. As difficult as it may seem, I urged our members to continue working with us in this divine endeavor. Bring your family and friends and commit an hour or so in doing the work of GOD-in protecting the innocent and the defenseless. With our numbers, I am certain that with faith, commitment and trust in God, we will help erase the world ABORTION in this world, in our little and special way-one woman or couple at a time. May God continue to use us as His instruments to expand His kingdom and help others get closer to Him.
