The 40 Days for Life mission statement speaks of a desire "to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity."

There are countless stories from local campaigns where this has taken place. One of the most recent examples was during the campaign that took place earlier this year, when a crowd estimated at up to 150 joined in prayer at the 40 Days for Life vigil in Schenectady ... a group that included two bishops.

Among those leading the prayer were the Catholic bishop of Albany, Most Rev. Edward Scharfenberger (below, left) ... and the Episcopal bishop of Albany, Rt. Rev. William Love (below, right).

"It was an absolutely beautiful ecumenical event," said Sarah in Schenectady. "We hope to sponsor more group events in the future, as the positive feedback was in full support of group prayer."

Thanks to the 40 Days for Life team in Schenectady for putting this event together ... and sharing the photos of these two Christian leaders ? along with a number of other clergymen from different faith communities ? leading God's people in prayer for an end to abortion!
