"We had an incredible final weekend to close our first 40 Days for Life campaign in Manhattan," said Jill, the local coordinator.

"On Saturday," she said, "the Lord gave us yet another glimpse of the power of our prayers, through a woman who chose life for her baby."

The woman was met by a sidewalk counselor on her way into Planned Parenthood for an abortion. After they talked, she decided to go into the clinic anyway. But because she had eaten breakfast that morning, she wasn't cleared for the procedure.

The woman took that as a sign, and walked straight out to the sidewalk counselor for help. Two of the counselors personally drove her up to the Sisters of Life, where she was greeted with open arms.

"We certainly ended the campaign on a high note," Jill said, "with over a dozen people showing up last night for the very last hour of our campaign. Thank you to every one of you who supported our campaign with your prayers and presence at the vigil over these last 40 days ? and several months of planning before that!"

Jill said she looks forward to hearing more from the sidewalk counselors and many of the vigil participants about their experiences over the last 40 days ... and the impact of praying and fasting for an end to abortion.
