?The first step toward healing was found for a mother,? said one of the Pensacola team members.

A mother who lost her child to an abortion a year ago returned to the abortion facility to grieve her loss. She brought a candle and flowers to place at the vigil site in memory of the child. She also came looking for the counselor she spoke to the day of her abortion.

In short, she came to find help.

Vigil participants were able to console her and offer her hope and healing after her abortion. They gave her information about Rachel?s Vineyard and Project Rachel ? and one of them took her to a pregnancy resource center for additional counseling.

?Abortion is a traumatic experience for the women, men, and families that experience it,? said the Pensacola volunteer. ?Let us always be there to meet them with love and mercy. Let us pray for this mother and all the other mothers and fathers who have lost a child to abortion.?
