In just a moment, I'm going to introduce you to one of the babies whose life was spared by your prayers ? and the prayers of many other people around the globe.
With God's help, your prayers and efforts have spared the lives of 9,699 children (that we know of) since 40 Days for Life began its first coordinated campaign in September 2007.
We thank God for each one of these children, made in His image and likeness.
Though our team is blessed to hear each story and see every picture of a saved life ... it's really special when we get to meet one of those babies in person.
Our national director, David Bereit, was in San Antonio, Texas this September to kick off the local 40 Days for Life campaign. More than 100 people came out to the event ... including the people you see with David in the picture above.
Brian and Kathy, the married couple in the middle, were praying at last fall's 40 Days for Life vigil outside the local Planned Parenthood abortion center. While there, a 16-year-old girl pulled into the parking lot. She was distressed and feeling pressured by everyone around her to abort her child.
Brian and Kathy offered to help, and when she agreed, they walked her two doors down to the local Christian pregnancy center. That's where she met the pregnancy center counselor, Tammy, on the far left in the photo.
The young mom was surrounded by love and support from the pregnancy center volunteers and Brian and Kathy throughout her pregnancy ... and the couple was even with her when she gave birth to her son this past March.
The 16-year-old was not ready to parent, so she made an adoption plan ... and she asked Brian and Kathy to adopt her child.
These proud new adoptive parents introduced David to their son ? baby Isaac (asleep in the middle of the picture) ? at the 40 Days for Life event outside the Planned Parenthood center ... where he was almost aborted.
This is the kind of story that YOUR prayers and support make possible.
With God's help, we hope to see many more beautiful children and joyful mothers spared from abortion!
