Notes

The Lenten 2025 campaign of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in our community begins this year on Wednesday 5th March and ends 40 days later on Thursday 17th April. We will be praying for 12 hours every day for 40 consecutive days. To take part in our vigil of prayer and fasting, please sign up and create a login using this website. Then, you can put your name down in the vigil calendar for however many hours you wish - for example, one hour, or one hour each week... or for those who have more time available, an hour a day. It's entirely up to you. During the campaign, you will receive emails with inspiring stories of others who are also praying for an end to abortion at the same time, in communities around the globe.

Abortion is the greatest issue of social injustice in our time. It involves the deliberate ending of the life of an unborn fellow human being. Like all social injustices, it does great harm - to women, to families, and to friends. And it does great harm to our community.

As individuals, we cannot end this injustice. But as Christians, we can and should ask God to end it.

Jesus told us: ‘What you do for the least of these, you do for me.’

Please join our witness of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in Sheffield.
