If you haven't made it out to a 40 Days for Life vigil yet, it's not too late! Visit 40daysforlife.com/location and sign up to pray. Day 40 is Sunday!

Most babies saved during a 40 Days for Life campaign are saved at the vigil site...

...but others are saved through outreach done away from the vigil--sometimes at a significant distance.

"Last week, I came across a post [online] from a grandma asking for help for her granddaughter," wrote Sue. "She is 14 years old and 20 weeks pregnant with a girl."

The teen mom's father was pushing her to have an abortion.

Sue, a first-time vigil leader in Flint, Michigan, responded by sharing images of an unborn child's development, a listing of area pregnancy help centers, and her personal abortion testimony.

"We continued to pray," Sue said. "40 Days for Life volunteers prayed. We kept at it."

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Recently, we shared the story of 92-year-old Joan, who retired from the sidewalk after spending countless hours praying for an end to abortion.

But Joan isn't the only nonagenarian present on the sidewalks. At 91 years old, Cleta continues to join the Chapel Hill vigil weekly.

"She is one of our most faithful and faith-filled prayer warriors," said Kathy, the local campaign leader. "Cleta is a role model in how to defeat the culture of death through her prayerful presence and humble demeanor. Thank you, Cleta, for your untiring example in defending life for well over 10 years!"

Hartford, Connecticut

A woman pulled up to vigil participants and shared that their signs had changed her mind about getting an abortion!

"[Vigil participants] gave her the strength to drive away," wrote Emma, who is leading her first campaign. "She told them she opened her door several times to go in...but couldn’t go through with it when she knew she could get the help she needed."

Ventura, California

The pro-life club at Thomas Aquinas College organizes a presence at the Ventura 40 Days for Life campaign each year in tribute to a pro-life student who died in a tragic climbing accident more than a quarter-century ago.

"I'm so very proud of these young people, especially the college students, who have to drive half an hour and juggle a super busy class schedule to do this," wrote Monica, who helps lead the local campaign.

It's not just college students. Monica said that high school students have joined the vigil as well. "The response to these young people's joyful (and unafraid) presence is amazing," Monica added.

On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.”

--John 20:1

Father, you never fail. Time and time again you have triumphed: with the overturn of Roe v. Wade, with the conversion of abortion doctors, with the courageous mothers who have chosen life, and with the countless babies saved against all odds. Why, then, do I doubt that you will help us now? I believe that you will make abortion unthinkable in this country. I believe that you will help us empower women to choose life. I believe that no setback is permanent. I believe that you have a plan far greater than anything I could ever conceive on my own. I surrender the past, present, and future to you. Amen.
