As left-wing politicians push to eradicate legal protections for unborn children, abortion businesses hoping to strike gold are flocking to so-called "abortion sanctuary" states.

This abortion free-for-all doesn't appear to be working out as well as the abortion industry expected.

Two and a half years ago, Planned Parenthood opened a new facility in Seaford, Delaware, but business isn't exactly booming.

"Client traffic has been way down," noted Jim, the local 40 Days for Life leader. "And prayer warrior participation has been terrific--and ahead of last year."

Jim noted that the abortion center's hours of operation have decreased significantly, which is music to pro-lifers' ears.

Vigil participants stand hundreds of feet away from the facility because Planned Parenthood is located in a medical complex, but they're still making a difference.

"I know you all are having an impact because we hear the stories at the clinic," reported the CEO of a local pregnancy help center.

Recently, a young man working in the complex approached Jim and thanked him for holding his "Pray to End Abortion" sign.

"You are doing a very good thing being here," the man said. "When my girlfriend got pregnant, we went to an abortion clinic. We saw a sign like yours and changed our minds. We had the baby."

Lawndale, California

A former abortion worker is helping to close both her former workplace and other abortion facilities.

Franne used to work at Planned Parenthood in Los Angeles. She became disillusioned and eventually decided to lead the 40 Days for Life campaign in front of the facility where she used to handle the remains of aborted babies.

Franne recently visited Lawndale to address 40 Days for Life volunteers about the importance of persevering in prayer and peaceful vigil.

"She shared poignant stories of her and her co-workers that touched people's hearts," reported Lawndale 40 Days for Life leader Laura. "She encouraged everyone to keep coming and praying [because] God is using them in a mighty way, not simply to help workers get out but to continue healing them."

Spokane, Washington

A man taking his three-year-old son out for ice cream stopped to join the vigil in Eastern Washington, explaining that the little boy was nearly aborted.

The child had been exposed to methamphetamines in the womb due to his mother's drug use. She had experience with abortion and wanted to abort this baby too. Fortunately, the dad worked through a pro-life organization to convince her otherwise.

"We were very inspired to hear his story," said Linda from the Spokane vigil. "The bright little boy [is] a blessing in his father's life."

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.

--Matthew 28:19-20

God, you have given me more than I could possibly ask. Help me never stray from your presence, for it is you whom I long to share with everyone I encounter. Show your face through my humility, direct my steps, and let every word I speak be from you. You ascended to Heaven not to abandon us but to be with us. You sent the Holy Spirit to guide our actions. As we conclude this 40-day fast, pour forth your grace on us to carry your light to the ends of the world. Amen.
