Fall 2009 National 40 Days for Life Campaign

40 Days for Life is ending this weekend, November 1! It seems to have gone by so fast. But it’s been a wonderful campaign, and I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your help and participation. I believe we made a big difference, especially for the two babies and their families that we know were saved from abortion.

Life Chain this year will mark the end of the 40 Days. It’s happening on Sunday, November 1, from 2:30 – 4:00 pm. We invite you to come and stand with us in a “chain for life” on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd , in between Alberta St. and Russell St . We hope to have enough people to spread out over 17 blocks!

Bring your signs, warm clothing, and family! Life Chain is always an effective and positive pro-life outreach.

Thank you each again, and stay tuned for other pro-life events that will be happening in Portland ! I’m hoping that we can do more, as a united community, to help build the Culture of Life in Oregon .

This fall, hundreds of cities and communities across the U.S., and beyond, will be uniting again in the largest organized pro-life campaign ever -- 40 Days for Life! Thousands of people of faith are uniting to stand in peaceful and prayerful witness outside abortion facilities, and to participate in special prayer and fasting for an end to abortion. All this will take place in a focused, 40-day campaign that is conducted on a local level in individual cities.
And Portland will be one of the cities participating in this great effort for life this fall! Please consider if you can join us to make a big pro-life impact on the Portland community. 40 Days for Life is known for its unfailing power to change hearts.


Where?
In Portland, we will focus our 40-day prayer vigil outside the Lovejoy Surgicenter abortion clinic, on NW 25th Ave, Portland, OR 97210. We hope to maintain a constant peaceful and prayerful presence there for 40 days, and thus to surround this place with love and prayer to change hearts and help end the killing. Can you join us? We will need many people to fill all the hours. Our vigil goal is 8 am - 5 pm, every day of the week. We suggest that you committ to one hour a week for the 40 Days. You can pick any day and any hour that will work best for you, and then please let us know so we can better arrange the schedule.
