Major Victory for Freedom of Speech: Pro-Lifer & 40 Days for Life Volunteer, Mark Houck, Wins Case Against Biden’s Crooked FBI and DOJ
Bryan, Texas – Today, the pro-life movement and every American who believes in the First Amendment achieved a significant victory for freedom of speech. Pro-life father and 40 Days for Life volunteer Mark Houck was acquitted of all charges against him brought by the Biden administration’s crooked and politicized DOJ and FBI. Mark defended himself and his young son when they were repeatedly targeted outside an abortion facility for peacefully praying and witnessing. State charges against him were dismissed. But, Biden’s DOJ decided to literally make a federal case out of it, stomping on Mark’s–and all Americans’–First Amendment rights.
Before the overturn of Roe, 40 Days for Life volunteers peacefully assembled outside abortion facilities, working with law enforcement and other state and local officials. Now, in a post-Roe America, the pro-life community has been actively targeted and harassed by the FBI and DOJ. Yet, at the same time, the FBI and DOJ continue to turn a blind eye to the constant attacks against pro-life activists and pro-life communities.
This case is a monumental victory for freedom of speech and the pro-life community – but we are only just beginning. The fight for pro-life Americans, and all Americans, to exercise their right to freedom of speech and assembly is under attack by the current administration like never before. 40 Days for Life will continue to defend and fight for any person whose rights are violated by Biden’s crooked DOJ and FBI.

“This is a huge victory for freedom of speech for all Americans and a complete embarrassment for the FBI and DOJ as they target peaceful 40 Days for Life volunteers. For nearly 20 years, 40 Days for Life has had a track record of peaceful assembly and working well with local, state, and federal law enforcement. We had no issue under Bush, Obama, Trump, or even the first two years of Biden's DOJ. The Biden DOJ and FBI are taking their anger over the Supreme Court overturning Roe out on us. I hope after this victory they leave us alone after this victory and focus on dangerous criminals in our country, not pro-life volunteers with a peaceful track record," Shawn Carney said.

“This is a win not just for the pro-life movement and Mark but for free speech and every single American. The federal government trumped up charges months after a local case had been dismissed. If the feds had prevailed, every argument in front of every abortion facility, no matter the subject, could result in federal charges. The feds tried to make a point that they would not tolerate pro-life speech and tried to make Mark an example that they would charge and intimidate pro-lifers, all while claiming that they represent democracy and free speech. But not today. The system worked, and justice prevailed,” Matt Britton said.
