We?re two weeks into the 40 Days for Life UNITED campaign and tour ... and the excitement keeps building!
When we stop to fuel up, the bus is like a magnet. People are drawn over to investigate. They talk with us ? sign the bus ? sometimes hand us cash to help fill the 75-gallon tank ? and offer to pray for the success of this effort.
God is good -- all the time!
Bishop David Konderla, the new Catholic bishop of Tulsa, led prayer at our vigil stop there. Bishop Konderla was associate pastor at St. Mary's Catholic Center in College Station, Texas when 40 Days for Life began. He has been a participant ... and a?huge supporter of this effort since its start!
We were also blessed by words of encouragement from State Rep. Pam Peterson and a local pregnancy center leader.
Our great vigil stop in Oklahoma City was right on the corner at an extremely busy intersection, which led to honks of support ... and occasional "choice" words from passing drivers.
Volunteers prayed for and lovingly greeted the abortion center director, who came out to photograph vigil participants -- and tried to intimidate them.
Our day wrapped up with a big statewide rally in Norman, Oklahoma ? outside an abortion center that opened in 1974. The weather was spectacular, and the enthusiasm of the more than 100 participants was contagious!
Melissa told her story of having an abortion inside this very facility, before she found hope and healing in Christ. Throughout the rally, children colored in chalk on the sidewalk ... reminding everyone of the precious nature of every child.
Next up: Kansas and Missouri!
