Peaceful 40 Days for Life prayer warriors have saved more than 20,000 babies since 2007...
...but for the first time, a vigil participant's prayers saved her OWN baby from abortion!
Let's back up.
A campaign volunteer in Santa Ana Nextlalpan, Mexico invited her neighbor to join the local 40 Days for Life vigil. The neighbor didn't really know what she was being invited to participate in but she showed up anyway.
The campaign team welcomed the young woman to the vigil site and taught her to pray for an end to abortion, completely unaware that their newest vigil participant was pregnant--and planning to have an abortion!
Neither did the young woman's family know she was pregnant. But time at the vigil touched her deeply.
When her family came home that evening, they found the expectant mother on her knees, praying, crying, and asking forgiveness.
"At that moment, the new grandmother learned that her daughter was pregnant and had been planning to abort," explained 40 Days for Life Director of Latin American Campaigns Lourdes Varela. "The invitation to join 40 Days for Life saved her grandchild's life. Glory to God for this saved life and a heart healed by God's mercy!"
Memphis, Tennessee
The Memphis vigil is held in front of a combination birthing and abortion center. Creepy!
Bethany, the local leader, said the new 40 Days for Life "Ask Me About A Free Ultrasound" signs have been helpful.
"The only chance we have to talk with people is when they pull into the driveway," she said. "Today, I was able to talk with seven women in the span of an hour and a half. The Lord opened doors as we prayed!"
One woman was particularly receptive.
"I told her about the free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, and her face lit up," Bethany shared. "She said that's really what she needed."
Fairfield, California
The Fairfield campaign has long been blessed with extraordinary numbers of vigil participants. This year, they've taken it to the next level!
"We aim for at least three to four volunteers per hour," the leadership team wrote. "We are getting five to ten volunteers each hour!"
Campaign leaders said that many new volunteers have joined the vigil, and the number of participants has doubled in 2022! "All glory to God!" they added.

Heavenly Father, keep our eyes firmly fixed on the good work You’re doing in us, and want to do through us. Help us proclaim the Good News of the Lord Jesus in partnership with Your Holy Spirit.
