After abortion provider Ulrich Klopfer died last month, relatives found more than 2,000 aborted babies preserved in his garage.
The macabre discovery shocked the world, provoking outrage--and rightly so.
But the gruesome news prompts an important question: Why is society more horrified by how Dr. Klopfer disposed of these babies than by the fact that he killed them in the first place?
We tackle that question on this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast. Listen in by visiting:
On the podcast, we also talk about:
- Whether the sensational nature of the Klopfer story really matters--and if it does, why?
- What do cases like this do to set back the abortion industry?
- What 40 Days for Life participants can learn from this story to make their witness more impactful

Dr. Klopfer lost his license to practice medicine years ago after he broke Indiana law by failing to report the sexual abuse of a minor.
His facilities in Fort Wayne and South Bend went out of business, but the 40 Days for Life campaigns in those cities press on.
Fort Wayne, Indiana
When Klopfer's Fort Wayne facility closed, the 40 Days for Life team turned its attention to the Planned Parenthood abortion referral center.
That facility closed in 2018--but it has now re-opened at a new location.
Though some have asked why pro-lifers are holding vigil in front of a location that does not actually perform abortions, Allen County Right to Life notes that 319 children from the county were aborted in 2018: "Planned Parenthood DOES abortion referrals. They sell abortion."
South Bend, Indiana
South Bend is a college town...and college towns are lucrative abortion markets.
After Ulrich Klopfer's abortion facility closed, the Whole Woman's Health abortion chain took advantage, opening a new abortion facility and even offering a student discount.
Having seen one abortion facility close already, the South Bend team is not discouraged as it leads the community's 23rd 40 Days for Life campaign.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
—Genesis 2:7
Lord, we are yours. Thank you for breathing into us the breath of life. Thank you for claiming us as your own. May our words and actions in defense of human life proclaim to all the world that you alone are Lord of life and death, Lord of our freedom and of our choices.
