With God's help, your prayers and efforts have spared the lives of 8,973 children (that we know of) since 40 Days for Life began its first coordinated campaign in September 2007. We thank God for each one of these children, made in His image and likeness.
One mom encountered the hope that your prayers offered after moving from Romania to London to seek a better life. After discovering that she was pregnant, she told her employer ... and they fired her.
Feeling helpless and with nowhere to go, she scheduled an abortion. When she arrived she saw the 40 Days for Life volunteers and decided not to go through with her abortion appointment. However, after some time passed, and the worldly pressures started to overwhelm her again, she made another appointment and went back to the abortion center.
On the subway ride she prayed and asked God for a sign if she was not supposed to have the abortion. The 40 Days for Life volunteers were faithfully still there, and she was deeply moved by their love and compassion. As she describes it, they were her sign from God.
She chose life for her baby and received help from Good Counsel Home in London.
