Honolulu, Hawaii
The 40 Days for Life team in Honolulu reported its first saved baby in three years!
A sedan with its window rolled down pulled up to the vigil site providing Chris an opportunity to encourage the vehicle's abortion-bound driver to explore alternatives to abortion before taking the life of her child.
90 minutes later, the same woman left Planned Parenthood, telling Chris, "I took your advice; I am keeping my baby."
"How wonderful!" Chris replied as the expectant mom smiled big, flashed a thumbs up and drove off.
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Vigil participants are braving the cold and snow to pray at the abortion facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
But it isn't easy.
"Today, the tears were flowing down my face," wrote one Grand Rapids prayer warrior. "I saw car after car drive in, and I just wanted them to stop so badly."
The volunteer has a love/hate relationship with her local vigil.
"I hate it because you have to stare sin, shame, murder, and hopelessness in the face," she said. "I love it because God changes me. My heart has changed toward the moms and the doctor."
The vigil participant continued, "I love it because I saw 12 men of God standing up for what was right. I love it because I saw women offering hope and love. I love it because for two hours it's not about a task or something I have control over...It is a reminder that I need to pray more."
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
—Genesis 2:7
Lord, we are yours. Thank you for breathing into us the breath of life. Thank you for claiming us as your own. May our words and actions in defense of human life proclaim to all the world that you alone are Lord of life and death, Lord of our freedom and of our choices.
