Everywhere you look, people are at each other's throats.
Political division. Racial division. Social division. Economic division.
That's what makes it all the more incredible that hundreds of abortion workers have converted, become pro-life and left their jobs in the abortion industry.
Recently, in the western United States, the 223rd abortion worker quit her job with the support and encouragement of the local 40 Days for Life team.
"She said she admired Abby Johnson," wrote the local campaign leader. "And she told me that she is going to get baptized!"
She's not the only one. In the southeastern part of the country, ANOTHER abortion worker also left her job.
It's not surprising that women choose life in response to your prayer and witness. After all, nobody wants to get an abortion.
But when women and men who earn their very livelihoods off abortion leave behind their source of income because it's the right thing to do, it shows that nobody is beyond the reach of God's grace and mercy.
Santa Barbara, California
The Santa Barbara 40 Days for Life team endured "brisk, gale-force winds" for a recent candlelight worship service.
"The enemy did not want us there!" said Janet from the campaign team. "But we worshipped and prayed and were encouraged by our inspiring guest speakers."
Rogers, Arkansas
The pro-lifers in Santa Barbara weren't the only ones dealing with inclement weather.
"In spite of three days of rain, wind, and umbrellas turned inside out, faithful pro-lifers in Rogers were undaunted in giving a beautiful testimony of their love of Christ and commitment to standing for life!" said Sheila, the local leader.
Waco, Texas
Bryan/College Station-based 40 Days for Life team members made a trip to Waco to stand in prayer for the unborn in Central Texas. The team spent an hour at the vigil before touring the pregnancy help center across the street from Planned Parenthood.
"Due to the Texas Heartbeat Act, there were no women coming or going from the Waco abortion facility," said 40 Days for Life COO Jodie Richter. "The spiritual contrast between Planned Parenthood and the pregnancy center was felt by all."
You have heard it was said, ‘you shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.
— Matthew 5: 43-44
Heavenly Father, may we reflect your character of grace and kindness to those who hate us and curse us. Guard our hearts and our tongues as we respond in love to words and actions meant to rile us or cause us harm. Let others see the Hope that is Christ in all we say and do.
