We have been sounding the alarm that the United Kingdom is flushing freedom of speech down the toilet--and that it could trickle over to the United States…
...and now it is happening.

The U.S. and the U.K. have a long and cherished heritage of spreading freedom of speech around the globe.
But the U.K. divorced itself from that tradition this week, as Parliament overwhelmingly voted to ban 40 Days for Life vigils within 150 meters of abortion facilities. In a great irony, this comes on the heels of 40 Days for Life winning a freedom of speech case in Germany.
Now Westchester County, New York, is introducing buffer zones which have been rejected by the Supreme Court nine times--with even Justice Ginsburg calling them "un-American."
We will take immediate legal action against New York and the U.K.
On today's video blog, I expose the bigotry of politicians who silence their own citizens:

My grandfather and patriots on both sides of the Atlantic made heroic sacrifices to defend democracy and freedom of speech from the Nazis...
...but even as 40 Days for Life is repeatedly winning battles that expand free speech in Germany, the U.K. regressively and shamefully abandons one of its most celebrated individual liberties: freedom of expression.
40 Days for Life will pursue every legal opportunity to fight this travesty--including immediate litigation.
Pro-abortion politicians wouldn't work so hard to silence you if your peaceful, prayerful presence was ineffective. Sign up to save a life at your closest 40 Days for Life vigil TODAY:
Bournemouth, England
After the introduction of a buffer zone last week, it has been announced that the Dean Park Clinic abortion center in Bournemouth has put its building up for sale.
The news comes just days after the local city council introduced a buffer zone that would criminalize genuflecting, sprinkling holy water, or even crossing oneself.
Furthermore, the government's Care Quality Commission recently released a disastrous report evaluating the abortion facility's service.
Southampton, England
When freedom of speech goes out the window, the marketplace of ideas follows.
"We had a great conversation with three students, one of whom had an abortion at age 17," reported Southampton 40 Days for Life leader Adam. "I think it was the first time they had heard the pro-life view."
Conversations like these demonstrate why free speech is so critical for a healthy society.
The woman who had an abortion told vigil participants she felt "used" as she underwent the procedure.
Adam, who is a former abortion worker, said the young woman initially criticized the vigil sign as being judgmental. "Once she realised we were normal, reasonable people, she proceeded to give us advice on how to [improve] the poster!"
I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.

Heavenly Father, You are the author of life and all that is good. Thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, and the promise of eternal life in Him. We humbly ask You to bless and protect all women carrying new life in their wombs. Fill them with a motherly love beyond measure. Be close to those facing an unexpected pregnancy. Give them strength and courage to overcome every trial. Give all mothers grace and tenderness to embrace their children as precious gifts. Through Your Holy Spirit, grant us all fullness of life in You. We make this prayer in the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus. Amen.
