Marlene in Concord, California, noticed a teenager "wandering [down] the sidewalk with the weight of the world on her shoulders."
Prayer warriors could sense the young woman was drawn to them, and Marlene asked her whether she needed help.
The girl's boyfriend had dropped her off blocks from Planned Parenthood for an abortion. "She was having a hard time finding the entrance," Marlene said, "not really wanting to find it."
So 40 Days for Life participants helped her find a pregnancy help center instead--even making arrangements for an after-hours appointment at which she chose life!
The teenager has been in the United States for a year after escaping abuse and poverty in her native Peru.
Though abortion advocates would claim that a pregnant down-on-her-luck teenage immigrant needs abortion to overcome her situation, this young mother's baby inspires her to triumph over her circumstances.
"The girl was so happy to finally have someone to hold her," Marlene said. "She wants to be the best mom she can be. She wants to hold her baby and fight for him or her."
And it's all possible because someone like you was there to fight for this young mom! "She went to Planned Parenthood because she did not know what else to do," Marlene explained. "But in her heart she did not want to kill her baby. She was looking for a life buoy, and she found us."

Roldanillo Valle, Colombia
A Colombian woman late in her pregnancy began considering abortion after she learned that her child's father was married.
Ruby from Bogota spent two days talking with the young woman, who chose life!
West Palm Beach, Florida
An abortion-minded woman and her mother approached 40 Days for Life prayer warriors, who walked them over to the local pregnancy help center.
"They received help and made the decision to save the baby," reported West Palm Beach leader Mary Ellen.
Just a short time later, another woman left the abortion facility and began a conversation with a vigil participant who also walked her over to the pregnancy help center--saving a SECOND baby from abortion that day.
Honduras
Two young, abortion-minded women in Honduras contacted a pregnancy help center...in Argentina.
That pregnancy center was too far away to provide direct help for the mothers, but the staff put those moms in touch with the Honduran 40 Days for Life team, which empowered them to choose life.
Altogether, campaigns in Honduras know of three babies saved from abortion through their efforts!

Heavenly Father, You are the author of life and all that is good. Thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, and the promise of eternal life in Him. We humbly ask You to bless and protect all women carrying new life in their wombs. Fill them with a motherly love beyond measure. Be close to those facing an unexpected pregnancy. Give them strength and courage to overcome every trial. Give all mothers grace and tenderness to embrace their children as precious gifts. Through Your Holy Spirit, grant us all fullness of life in You. We make this prayer in the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus. Amen.
