Abortion is a human trafficker's best friend.
Pregnancy can take trafficking victims off the "market"--and abortion provides a quick solution.
Fort Collins, Colorado, 40 Days for Life leader Kristy held a campaign event that focused on this disturbing trend in the abortion industry.
"I talked about how traffickers use Planned Parenthood to get under-the-radar STD and pregnancy tests, abortions, and birth control to be able to continue to 'sell' their product: the women," Kristy explained.
A victim shared her story of being forced to have an abortion by her gang-affiliated trafficker. If the victim refused to participate in any of the gang's illegal activity, the trafficker sometimes drove her to the abortion facility--forcing her to relive the trauma of her abortion--until she complied.
"It was a powerful night!" Kristy said. "Both abortion and trafficking steal human dignity and life."
The event included training from an expert, who shared the telltale signs of human trafficking.
This helped draw a crowd of more than 300 people--including community members who wouldn't have attended otherwise.
"We had people there who heard about it randomly!" Kristy explained. "God is so faithful."
Hempstead, New York
The longest-running 40 Days for Life campaign on Long Island held a Mass and a service that drew more than 50 participants--in spite of terrible weather.
Afterward, a campaign participant successfully redirected an abortion facility client to a nearby pregnancy help center!
It's unclear whether the woman was pregnant--but one thing is for sure: She was spared from Planned Parenthood by the power of prayer.
"Prayers answered!" said Michael, the Hempstead leader.
Atlanta, Georgia
At a recent campaign event, longtime Atlanta leader Margarita gave Pastor John Ensor a difficult assignment: Explain why God hasn't yet answered 40 Days for Life participants' prayers to close the abortion facility--or to convert the abortion doctors and staff who work there.
Pastor Ensor delivered.
"He reminded us of how the Israelites had to wait 400 years for the promised and yearned-for Messiah after the last prophet was sent to Israel," Margarita recounted. "In the waiting, God is doing a work in those who persevere in obedience to Jesus’ command to ask, seek, and knock!"
They were overjoyed at seeing the star.

Jesus, you are the divine physician and the source of all life. Bless doctors, nurses, and health care professionals so that they might always protect the gift of life. Help them to see you in every patient. As you heal our souls, let them heal our bodies. Amen.
