Early last year, the Biden administration announced that--for the first time ever--retail pharmacies would be allowed to sell abortion pills.
Walgreens and CVS just revealed they'll begin distributing the deadly drugs as soon as this month, putting them in position to eclipse Planned Parenthood as America's biggest abortion chains.
The move marks yet another betrayal from those in the health care industry who have forgotten their mission is to heal, not to kill. The good news is that we were ready for this development. 40 Days for Life vigils are taking place in front of pharmacies across the country.
Claremont, New Hampshire, 40 Days for Life leader Becky said prayer warriors standing vigil in front of CVS carry our "Ask Me About a Free Ultrasound" sign.
"It's getting noticed," Becky said. "A woman stopped yesterday and asked for information about the pregnancy care center."
Another woman brought vigil participants coffee, hot chocolate, and encouragement. "Thank you for what you're doing!" she exhorted them.
Rhinelander, Wisconsin
With a population of fewer than 10,000 people and nestled deep in the heart of Wisconsin's Northwoods, Rhinelander is one of the smallest cities in the world to host a 40 Days for Life vigil.
But it's an important location because the abortion industry is specifically targeting rural communities with abortion pills.
Joni is leading her third campaign in front of the local Walgreens, and she said her team's prayerful presence is "touching hearts" in the community.
"Rhinelander is taking notice of our prayer vigil," she said, noting that five passersby came by and offered prayers, donations, and encouragement in a single day.
Bartlett, Illinois
In the Land of Lincoln, Brett is also leading his third 40 Days for Life campaign.
"A brisk and glorious day to seek God's help in changing hearts and minds of any pregnant woman who might be contemplating ending her pregnancy with the abortion pill distributed at this CVS," he reflected.
And Jesus wept.
--John 11:35
Lord, grant us the courage to weep. Let our tears mingle with yours and with parents who have lost a child. Grant them the solace of your peace, the confidence that their son or daughter is interceding for them in heaven, and the hope that they will be reunited in eternity. Amen.
