The last week of a campaign is ALWAYS the most powerful because the impact of your witness is cumulative.
After praying outside your local abortion business for nearly five weeks, your witness touches the consciences of workers more than it did on day one. And the pressure your presence places on an abortion facility's bottom line continues to grow.
West Palm Beach, Florida
A West Palm Beach sidewalk counselor named Beverly felt the Holy Spirit telling her, "This is the day!"
The day for what?
When a woman left the abortion facility, Beverly found out. She said she was pregnant and had a sonogram but opted against abortion. Beverly asked whether she was having a boy or a girl.
"They would not tell me," the mom replied.
Beverly shared pregnancy help resources and her own cell phone number with the expectant mother. The car left and did not return.
"This particular abortion center is extremely challenging to reach women. It is a fortress," said Susan, the local leader. "Interaction is very limited with those entering. It is our prayer presence that makes the statement we are unable to make otherwise."
Sacramento, California
"We took your advice. We decided not to go through with it. We are keeping our baby," said the couple as they exited the abortion center.
The mom was nearly five-months pregnant and preparing for a gruesome, two-day, late-term abortion procedure.
"We gave them information about the loving, life-affirming, free, pregnancy resources available in our community," said Wynette, who made Sacramento the first city to join the nationwide 40 Days for Life campaign back in 2007.
"We showed them the fetal models, conveying the exact size and development of their baby," Wynette continued. "But this change of heart occurred--and this baby's life was saved--simply because someone was here."
The young couple specifically mentioned being touched by a simple sign bearing a picture of a newborn baby and the words "Please choose life!"
About two years ago, the baby in the photograph was saved from abortion by Sacramento's leader, Susan, in a conversation through a McDonald's drive-through window. Talk about community outreach!
Scripture and Prayer
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.??John 1:1-3
O God, may we always be quick to call you Father. And when we call you father, let your Spirit remind us that we, and all people, from their beginning to their last day, are your children. We praise you, Father, that you sent your Son to reveal to the world that all people are His brothers and sisters, that all people are your children.
