Within hours of taking the first abortion pill, Manuela knew she had made a terrible mistake.
"When we got home later that night, we both just broke down," said Manuela's boyfriend Chris. "It was just devastating. We knew it was the wrong choice and we regretted it very much."
Desperate to save the life of their child, Manuela and Chris called Planned Parenthood to ask whether there was any way to reverse the abortion pill.
A Planned Parenthood employee laughed at them.
Fortunately, Manuela and Chris didn't give up. They found an Abortion Pill Reversal doctor, who saved their baby!
The couple shared their story--and their gratitude for their now-six-month-old son--with attendees of a recent 40 Days for Life rally in Greenville, South Carolina.
"This cause is so important to me because it saved my life," Manuela told rally participants. "I would never have the relationship that I have with God today if it weren't for this decision."
Manuela explained that she was abortion-minded because she failed to trust in God.
"But today I know for sure that God is holding me in His Hands," she continued. "He has provided for every single need."
Colorado Springs, Colorado
A young mom and her husband are struggling financially and didn't feel they would be able to provide for a third child. So, they headed to Planned Parenthood.
"As soon as she took the abortion pill, she said she felt horrible," said Michele, the 40 Days for Life leader in Colorado Springs.
The mother was so upset that she threw up.
Fortunately, the local pregnancy help center scheduled an emergency appointment with a pro-life physician to administer the abortion pill reversal protocol (in case the pill was not thrown up).
Meanwhile, sidewalk counselors provided a gift card and cash to help meet the family's immediate needs.
"I really appreciate the card," the woman texted the sidewalk counselors. "I am soooo happy. Thank you very much! God bless. One day I know I will be able to help someone."
Fort Collins, Colorado
Jus 133 miles north of Colorado Springs, the Fort Collins 40 Days for Life team saved a baby after the child's mom had already ingested the first abortion pill.
"A local resource center let us know of a save from the abortion pill," Heather the local leader reported. "[The mom] heard people on the sidewalk calling out about abortion reversal. The baby is doing well!"
Some volunteers drive two or even three hours to join the Fort Collins vigil. Their sacrifices are paying off.
