A young couple in Little Rock, Arkansas, visited Planned Parenthood for a pregnancy test.
When that test came back positive, Planned Parenthood gave the expectant mother a brochure on abortion and offered to do an ultrasound for $150.
Fortunately, on their way into the abortion facility, the couple had seen 40 Days for Life volunteers holding the new "Ask Me About a Free Ultrasound" sign.
Rather than shell out $150, the couple went out to talk to the vigil participants.
"The couple said they didn't really want to have an abortion," Little Rock leader Toni recalled. "But they were very concerned because the mom had no insurance."
In fact, before heading to the abortion facility that morning, the woman prayed for God to give them a sign He would provide for their baby...
...and God literally used a sign to spare their child's life!
The powerful encounter was one vigil participant's first time praying with 40 Days for Life.
"She said she has always been pretty nervous about praying in front of people," Toni said. "But today she is on cloud nine!"
It's normal to be nervous about your first time standing vigil. But when you face your fear, God can use you to save a life.

Morelia, Mexico
A divorced mother of three found herself pregnant with baby number four and scheduled an abortion.
The woman's friends contacted 40 Days for Life to ask for help changing the woman's mind.
"The campaign leader talked to the woman and made an appointment for her to have an ultrasound," shared 40 Days for Life Director of Latin American Campaigns Lourdes Varela. "Indeed, the next day, she heard the heartbeat of her baby and began to cry."
The woman chose life and is now participating in the 40 Days for Life vigil!
Aurora, Illinois
Vigil participants at the Planned Parenthood mega-center in Aurora saved two babies at one time!
Phil, the local campaign leader, was wrapping up his prayer shift. Before he left, he and his replacement prayed together that God would move a woman to choose life that morning.
That prayer was answered!
"Mary spoke to two women leaving Planned Parenthood just after I left," Phil said. "Both came out of Planned Parenthood at the same time. Both chose life for their babies."
One of the women had tears streaming down her face. The other simply announced, "I cannot abort my baby. We need to get out of here!"

O Lord, help us follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Let us humbly and diligently work to restore legal protection for the unborn, the disabled, the medically dependent and all innocent children of God whose lives are threatened. Let us remember the old adage that “He can never lead who has not first learned to obey.” And, Lord, grant us a peaceful heart as we labor in your name.
