Every morning at 5 am, a line of women seeking abortions appears in front of public hospitals in Mexico City.
One day this campaign, 40 Days for Life volunteers taking the early morning shift rejoiced when they noticed that nobody showed up for an abortion. A hospital nurse told a campaign participant that the abortion doctor filed paperwork as a conscientious objector and would no longer do abortions!
As a result, the hospital would not be able to provide any abortions at least until it recruits a new abortion provider. (Let's pray that never happens!)
Northeastern United States
A Planned Parenthood employee asked for prayers from a 40 Days for Life vigil participant in the Northeast United States.
"She said she is reading the Bible and praying and hopes to find another job!" reported the local leader.
The campaign team asked for prayers that this worker will have the fortitude to leave the abortion industry.
Central Mexico
Prayer warriors at a campaign in Central Mexico met a woman who stopped to have a conversation about abortion.
As the vigil participants made their case for life, the woman admitted she was an abortionist in training. She was having second thoughts, however, and her conversation with the 40 Days for Life volunteers persuaded her not to begin a career killing innocent babies.
Almost in tears, the woman repented of pursuing training as an abortionist and promised that she would not perform any abortions.
Northern California
A longtime vigil leader in Northern California said that an abortion worker recently quit her job at the facility where the 40 Days for Life vigil is held.
"I wouldn't describe it as a conversion," the leader said, describing the departure more as a result of workplace dysfunction.
It's no surprise that an abortion facility is a workplace riddled with conflict. But while this worker might not describe herself as pro-life...yet...any time a worker leaves, it's good news--and fertile soil for eventual conversion!
And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus, open my eyes to your presence in the life of every child. Open my heart to joy in the birth of every child, a birth that reflects the joy of your own birth in Bethlehem. As you shared life in the womb of Mary, so now send your protection upon every child still in the womb, and grant to their mothers the strength and joy that comes from welcoming the gift of life.
