There's nothing more pro-life than a birthday.
After all, if you're celebrating your birthday, it means you made it. Your life was not one of the 56 million lives ended by abortion worldwide each year.
This fall, 40 Days for Life participants around the world used their special day to pray that abortion-vulnerable babies get to celebrate their own birthdays.
Emelia in West Covina, California turned down dinner at a nice restaurant...because she wanted to spend her 12th birthday at a 40 Days for Life midpoint rally! She even spoke at the event.
"God is going to use this young lady in mighty ways!" said 40 Days for Life Outreach Director Sue Thayer, who also spoke.
Yvonne, the local leader, brought a birthday cake for Emelia, and the entire crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
September, who leads the campaign in Milwaukee, also spent her birthday at the vigil. Archbishop Jerome Listecki and dozens of students from a nearby Catholic high school joined her.
"The escorts called in reinforcements," said Dan, Milwaukee's previous campaign leader. "But it didn't help them."
Two babies were saved from abortion that afternoon.
Talk about a birthday present!
Tamuning, Guam
DonaMila is leading the first campaign in Guam.
Guam's only abortion provider retired, and DonaMila estimates more than 500 lives have been saved as a result...
...but pro-abortion politicians are trying to recruit an abortionist. Tamuning's 40 Days for Life campaign sends a message to potential abortion providers: Guam is pro-life!
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”
— Revelation 21:4-5
Father, you are the God of hope. Your word fills us with the vision of the world to come, when every tear will be wiped away, and death will be no more. Father, how we need that hope, how we are strengthened by that vision! Keep our hearts focused on heaven, and diligent in the labors of earth. As we struggle against the culture of death, root our souls in the assurance of victory.
